“This review is more of a thank you to Opie for stocking such a range of oils, in particular, Miller. I've had just two 1968 land rovers as my daily drivers since 1984, this current 2nd one for the past 10 yrs, so I'm very familiar with & content with the model's characteristics. Since retiring to the north Pennines the demands on the L.R. are very different, almost constant gradients of 10% to 20% and 75 % of my annual ~4500 miles involves towing ~1 ton trailers. Time to review the GL4 90W transmission oil that I'd always used. In their manual L.R. approved only 1 variant from 90W, a GL4 90W140. I've tested Millers GL4 / GL5 (yellow metal compatible additive package) 85W140 in the transfer case, o'drive & rear diff and the improvements are not subtle. Engine braking is noticeably less effective as drive train friction is so much less, as also is noise & vibration. Early days for a more accurate assessment but, so far, fuel consumption (2.5 turbo diesel) seems reduced by ~5%. I'm so pleased with the, addmittedly, early results, ~400 miles, I felt that I had to let yourselves, Miller & other potential users know. I'm going to try the main g'box next. I can't forsee it, but if it should happen to go pear shaped in the longer term then I'll also report this.”

“Poor oils have an extensive range of products to choose from. I particularly like the technical data sheets that allow a choice between oils based on important properties. Delivery was fast and the oil arrived in perfect condition. I will definitely use Opie Oils again”
