The children enjoyed the freeze frames with the different characters they were familiar with. While the workshop gave teachers an idea of how to use drama to aid understanding of the text and characters, it was generally felt that the workshop did not offer anything we couldn't do ourselves.

We booked the 'The Ramayana' - Diwali Dance Workshop for our Reception to Year 2 children. The Year 2 children and teachers loved the workshops however the Year 1 and Reception Teachers felt it could have been enhanced with more visuals and props for the younger children to help them make connections between the dance and the culture, especially in the Assembly! Also, the instructor was late on the second day and the teachers had to led the assembly for 10minutes! Could have been so much better, sorry but won't be booking again.

Some of the language was too difficult for the children to understand in the workshops and the performance. More facilitators would have been better. It was a bit simple, lots of reading off a screen and not very inspiring. Sorry to sound so harsh but it was disappointing!

The workshop was good, however we were expecting props to be used during the workshop. Lizzie was very good at leading the session.

Lizzy who ran the session was good and we have no complaints there. Although we would have liked more from this session considering the price. I appreciate my class had some tricky characters but it would have helped to have some props and more to engage the children's interest. When our head walked through the hall, he was disappointed with the lack of interest and what the children got out of the session and wondered if we might be able to get some of our money back. In the past when I have had theatre groups they would actually put a short performance for the children and use props to act out the scenes. looking forward to hearing from you. Rekha Slatter

The workshops were very fast paced which was fine for our juniors and they enjoyed it however this was not suitable for our infants. The workshop should have been changed to accommodate the needs of the younger children. They needed to do less at a slower pace.

Not as well received as in previous years. Perhaps because the children are not as familiar with the story.

I though the acting and singing was fantastic - couldn't fault it. I was however very disappointed that there were only two people delivering the performance and I felt the resources and staging was lacking. This was almost double the cost of our show from last year and from the 'west end' advert we received-and for the cost-we were expecting a lot more. Our children did enjoy the show.

This was a very basic session and one which we could have delivered ourselves. We expected something over and above what the school provides. Not sure what we paid for I'm afraid!

The poppies and poetry workshop was fun and full of fantastic historical content but unfortunately it wasn't quite pitched right for our age range. It would have benefited from a more hands on multi-sensory approach, there was a little too much teacher talk.

The children engaged well with the workshops and enjoyed performing to the rest of the school at the end of the day. It would have been nice to have had copies of the poems used beforehand to help children understand the difficult vocabulary and content and for follow up work. Many of the children had little understanding of what they were doing as the material was hard to access and wasn’t really explained. The workshops and performance would have flowed better had there been more than one person delivering them as it was quite clunky with only one person trying to lead and manage the technical aspect as well.

Very lively which was great. Could have done with music, book and some props as children are young, needed more to keep them hooked and support their imaginations.

Overall we were satisfied with our visit from West End in schools. It was interesting to see what tasks had been chosen for the children to complete and how they were delivered by a professional, who successfully kept all children engaged. We felt that the service was not good value for money. At a cost of £499 for one day we were expecting more than one visiting actor.

Michael (apologies if I have his name incorrect) was clearly a very talented dancer and the initial assembly certainly thrilled the children as he demonstrated different dancing styles. I felt a little disappointed that there was no effort to connect appearance/costume/visuals to the story of Rama and Sita. Certainly for the younger children the version of the story was a little too complex even though the year 1 children had been learning about Diwali and understood the basic narrative thread. I had also booked Dance around the World workshops for Dance Week and the choreographer changed her outfit to reflect the dance style she was teaching. A small detail but very effective. Please take this as constructive criticism in order to help you develop your teaching in schools. Michael was courteous, professional and on time! Thank you.

Similar session for each year group whether Foundation Stage or Year 6. No visuals or colour which was a great pity for such a lively dance. Shakespeare Day (Midsummer's Night Dream) ending with a whole school performance was so much energetic and engaging and I'm afraid this did not live up to it. Sorry.

The show was promoted as being suitable for the whole school, however it was definitely pitched towards the younger members of the audience. Reception through to Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed it, but I'm afraid that most of the older year groups were unimpressed. My year 5 class reported that they liked 'the dabbing'. Having said that, the actors were engaging and the singing was good, the show just wasn't quite right for KS2 - sorry.

Thank you for your lion king workshop. The children all very much enjoyed the dance and routine. Matthew was an amazing dancer and lead the workshop well. As we were using this workshop as a Fab Finish I would have liked to have seen a backdrop, scenery or props being used to make it really come to life. Even if we had been told to make our own masks or props to bring in with us it would have made it more magical for them and really brought the Westend show to life.

We asked all our children their thoughts on the performance. All the children enjoyed the 'panto' but 8 out of 10 children thought there should have been more than 2 actors and the props could have been improved upon.

The actors were on time, very pleasant and set up quickly. I was quite surprised that there were only 2 actors as, in the past, we have always had at least 4 or 5 actors performing for us. The actors told the story well, sang beautifully and the majority of children were engaged. Both performances lasted an hour or just over. I think this is too long for the younger children to sit still even if they got them to stand up at points to join in the songs. The story of Scrooge is not the most upbeat either and at times it was quite sad (not your usual pantomime performance). I also only recall one 'he's behind you' moment and one 'oh yes it is'...it was possibly my fault for choosing this show but I was hoping for a pantomime dame, lots of audience participation, upbeat songs and more actors for our money! I had similar feedback from my colleagues. We felt the performers were very professional but it was too long and not a pantomime as we know it.
