“My aspiration of the Steak Pie was greatly let down. I knew I had to build it myself, but Ashet pie tin was mentioned, not a tin foil tray. Disappointed, will try somewhere else next year.”

“We ordered an extra large steak pie for New Years Day dinner to feed six of us - cannot get good scottish steak pies down here in Midlands. Placed order mid-morning and it was delivered next day. It was excellent and could have fed eight if need be. The meat and gravy were all pre-cooked and supplied within a sealed bag and the pastry supplied in its own sealed bag. We placed it in our freezer for a few days and allowed it to thaw out overnight before cooking. The steak was first class - tender, plentiful, virtually fat free and no gristle. Will be ordering again and highly recommend it.”

“The courier company that west Coast uses were probably over stretched prior to christmas and were unable to deliver our fresh produce in a safe timespan. WCF kept in touch with us and when the time limit expired for safe delivery of goods 0 this is the first time this has happened) they sent one of their own employees on a delivery run very kindly, and got our christmas order to us. I thought this was really good and considerate customer service. their produce is excellent anyway and good value for money, it helps us out alot to get our meat delivered in bulk like this and never encounter any issues with quality or service.I am happy to reccomend them as a company.”

“From the moment of ordering I was kept informed of its' progress. The delivery was almost to the minute of estimate on following morning. Excellent! As for the products, Braising Venison and some Rib-Eye steaks, well all I can say is superb. I certainly will be ordering again. Great service and quality all round!”

“Second year in a row we have had our turkey for Christmas from West Coast Foods. Excellent birds, very tasty. The service is excellent and I like collecting from Prestwick so we can stock up on other products in the shop. I only indulge once a year so why go to a supermarket for my Turkey when there is a great local service providing outstanding products. Will be getting my next turkey from West Coast Foods - 5*”

“Living in England its just not possible to get square slice sausage (or decent black pudding!), so I ordered everything I needed so we could all enjoy a good old Scottish breakfast over the xmas holiday - the sausage, black pudding, potato scones and also the 'pigs in blankets' were all just delicious and I will have no hesitation in ordering from you again. I would also just like to say that the packaging was first class, everything arrived completely fresh and in excellent condition. Thank you!”

“Ordered Capon, pigs in blankets and Sage and onion stuffing. Received sausagemeat instead of sage and onion. Emailed and was told I would receive refund for the stuffing. Still waiting for refund. Review would have been ‘poor’ but saved by quality of Capon and pigs in blankets. Other niggles...no weight indicated on Capon. Sold as 4kg but when weighed was only 3.75 kg. Also no cooking guidelines which would have been useful.”

“Our Christmas was ruined by the absolutely dreadful lamb joint, meant for out Christmas Day dinner. I have been cooking, home and professionally for nearly 50 yrs. The order was delivered with box intact, however the sausage meat tube was split at one end and the contents squeezed out onto the other meat packets. The ice packs were partially defrosted and slushy. The meat was not cold enough, and the outside of the plastic wrappings on the meat were greasy and messy and it all smelt. The information on each item was almost non existent, with no origin, cooking instructions, no company name, nothing, and the print had rubbed off on the lamb packet. The lamb was UNDOUBTEDLY halal. There was no blood, it was a poor colour and worse still (as with halal meat from experience of supermarket meat), IT DOESN'T COOK WELL. The lamb joint smelt the whole kitchen out with an unpleasant odour, no off, just unpleasant and not the normal lamb cooking smell. I was already doubtful about this meat, but had no alternative for our special meal. All the vegetables were ready for it. As I have cooked uncounted meat joints before over the years and am an experience cook, correct timing and basting as usual, the joint should have been tender and juicy, smelling great and looking good when it came out of the oven - IT WAS AWFUL. Tough, dry and unappetising in the extreme, I could not risk us eating it. Our dog loves lamb, HE WOULD NOT TOUCH IT. So the whole thing went in the rubbish bin. Now doubtful about anything from this "butcher" I threw the pigs in blankets away unopened, the rest of the order will follow suit from the freezer. I cannot trust this meat. Time and money thrown away and no special Christmas dinner for us. We ended up with Waitrose sausages. I will never buy anything from this company again. The source of the meat is not disclosed on the packaging, their advertising is misleading and possibly untrue regarding sources. I may as well have gone to Sainsburys and had their scandalous halal Seven Sisters meat. Very angry and absolutely disgusted at being duped and cheated with this inferior produce. I was tempted to take that "lamb" joint to the Environmental Dept of my local council with a complaint and for investigation. I may still do so with the meat left in my freezer, for an answer to what exactly it was I paid for and received. Disgraceful.”
