“Received the food in good time but use by dates on food are short and In one case out of date all together. Got no response from an email sent back stating food was out of date. Not great communication from west coast foods.”

“Not as described. Bought some bacon on the strength of their website’s description of it: “...proper bacon that doesn’t evaporate in the pan or leave a white trail as it cooks...” So was surprised when the bacon arrived that it had added water, even called them to confirm I’d been sent the right order. Cooking it then, loads of water came out and the bacon shrank about a third in the pan, as for no white trails, by the time it was cooked it looked like the scene in the film Alien where the android (Ash) is covered in his synthetic white blood, not pretty and far from “proper” bacon. Only redeeming thing is that is tasted pretty good, so one star for that. Given it’s just the usual supermarket quality “wet-cured” bacon, you’re better off just buying from the supermarket (who don’t have a 2kg minimum order either).”

“Living in the south of England I Ordered for my husbands birthday a whole raft of Scottish food (lorne sausages, scotch pies and steak pies). Went to cook one of the steak pies for his dinner and as instructed emptied the 'meat' into the ashet only to discover there was no MEAT it was just a tub of gravy. So disappointed! Will be contacting them by phone tomorrow to discuss the situation. Will think twice about using them again if this is the kind of stunt they pull. Only good thing was the dog enjoyed the gravy.”

“Wouldn't order again. Sausage is starting to go off so threw it out. Ordered peppered steak but arrived unpeppered. A Stornoway black pudding I can get anywhere. Disappointed”

“My aspiration of the Steak Pie was greatly let down. I knew I had to build it myself, but Ashet pie tin was mentioned, not a tin foil tray. Disappointed, will try somewhere else next year.”

“ordered 4 lots of venison but was sent two lots labelled correctly and the other two presumably venison but not labelled correctly. I had to waste my time taking pictures and still dont know until I cook it if it is actually venison. This is not acceptable and no compensation offered.”

“Disappointed to see that the chicken breast I purchased said on the packaging that they were from Germany. Prior to ordering, I had scoured your website to find out where there were from but couldn't find anything. Being a farmers daughter, I wanted to support British farming and buy British chicken. I gave up searching through your website and since the tagline of your website reads "Scottish produce", I assumed that the chicken would be Scottish. I believe your website is misleading and should state where meat is not Scottish.”

“I received my order on the day and time as given so I was happy. However the box was not that cool and there was water in the box from the chill packs which were defrosted. What was of more concern was that the seal on the tub of chicken was broken and some of the water had entered the chicken.”

“Ordered on a Friday and products delivered, well packaged, following Wednesday by UPS - delay with UPS in transit. So items arrived later than expected and indeed after the planned meal for which items were ordered! Never mind. One of the items was the beef pie. Didn't realise pie was 'self-assembly' and didn't/can't find any reference to this fact in online ordering process. However, I persevered and arrived at a beef pie. even though there were no cooking instructions with it, nor can I see any instructions on website. Was very tasty though. I'd been into the Prestwick shop before ordering online and seen chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon. Website shows these too, however the 2 that I ordered arrived without the bacon wrapping. Right-oh! Cooking instructions on the website were fine. I'd really like to award a higher rating but I'm assessing the whole process and not just the item. Whilst I believe in what your doing WCF are going to have to sharpen up before I order from you/them again - there's a lot of competition out there for online ordering. Sorry.”
