I spent a week in Kathmandu working in a public school. This experience has been amazing for several reasons; culture, city, food, children, locals I met and my adventure companions. The place we stayed was "complicated" for me; spiders, cockroaches and, unfortunately, my companions saw also a rat in our dining room. Rashmila and her her sister were very kind with me. If I may offer some advice; keep the front door always closed and provide important information immediately (how to call a taxi, the location of the laundry, ATM), fortunately when I arrived I met a girl who was leaving the house and gave me some of this info.

I was able to spend a week at the Children's Home in Nairobi and would have loved to stay longer! The children are simply enchanting, and the directors and the entire team are warm and dedicated. As a volunteer, my tasks were varied – from playing and caring for the children to changing diapers, sorting beans, and washing dishes. I enjoyed every task, and I felt completely at home 😊. At the Volunteer House in Lower Kabete, I had a simple but very clean penthouse private room with a fantastic view. Dinner was delicious every day, and Joe and Joseph were always helpful and friendly. The exciting Sunday tour through Nairobi with Joe was also particularly enjoyable – from the city center to the slums, to the Giraffe Center and the Crocodile Farm. An unforgettable experience! I highly recommend the volunteer program to everyone and give it a full 5 stars. Thank you for this enriching time!

I had the most amazing time doing the volunteer teaching program in Tianyar. Everyone at the Widya Sari school was incredibly kind and welcoming, I've felt very supported during my three weeks of teaching. The camp was lovely, I loved the traditional housing and overall environment. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience living amongst Balinese people, while feeling like you're on vacation.

Volunteering in Africa and working with children has been one of my dreams, and recently, I had the chance to make it come true. It was a truly life-changing experience that I will carry in my heart forever 🥹 I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project and to bring a little more happiness into these children’s lives. I deeply believe that every child deserves love, care, and access to basic needs — education, food, clothing, warmth, and safety. The children I worked with are simply incredible: they are smart, kind, and pure-hearted. They deserve so much more than what they currently have. I would like to thank Volunteering Solutions for the wonderful organization of this program, and especially Joe, who was always there to support and guide the volunteers. If you have a chance to help and bring a smile to someone’s face — just do it. It’s one of the most meaningful things you can offer, and trust me, it’s worth it ❤️‍🩹

My son and I did a medical mission trip to Kenya recently and was very satisfied with the program. The local program director was available if needed. We were hoping to go to one hospital however there was a strike so our director located us to another clinic and hospital. The Physicians and clinicians were very welcoming especially to my son who will be entering medical school. He was able to be very hands on and see how other countries provide medical care. I was also able to go to a local orphanage for a day with the child care volunteers which was very humbling. For the price that we paid I felt the living arrangements were substancial. My son and I chose not to stay together therefore I stayed in a all womens apartment. The other volunteers I stayed with were smart, compassionate and friendly. Although I am much older than them, I really enjoyed their company. The nighttime meal was provided as well as breakfast. It was very easy to get around Nairobi by Uber and I did not feel unsafe at any time

Our trip to Kenya was very well organised. We were picked up at the airport and taken staright to our accomodation. Everything was very well explained to us and then we were taken round Nairobi to see some sights and animaols. The two weeks went by so quickly. We had to organise our own transport to the orphange everyday which was easy to do with Uber and very cheap. All in all it was a great experience, one my daughter and I will not forget. We are going to be fundraising for the Makimei orphange and if youo get a chance to go, please do! The women who run the home are amazing and the kids have so much potential and are so lovely that our two weeks flew by!! We will definately be going again.

It was my second time going to the African continent and it was the best experience I could have asked for. I did the 2 week childcare program in Kenya with my mum. We landed on a Saturday and git picked up by the coordinator Joe, he took us to a shopping mall to get money out and buy a bit of food for the accommodation, it also gives you a chance to buy a sim card if you need it. The Sunday we had a tour around the slums, went to a giraffe center and a crocodile center. Both were great fun, we then went to the Makimei children's home and left our donation there. I couldn't stop crying I was so sad about what I was seeing, these kids have nothing yet they are so happy. During the holiday when all kids are away they are 116 kids in 2 bedrooms, 5 kids sleeping per mattress and the baby room is heartbreaking. 2-4 babies per cot and they wouldn't leave that room until they are 2 and move to the bedrooms. During my time there I got to know the kids snd how beautiful and innocent they are, mama Margret, the founder is an amazing women. She and her daughter Rachael were telling us all about the kids stories and they were heart breaking. We spent 2 amazing weeks bring bubbles and their absolute favourites balloons, we would bring them bread and honey and make them honey sandwiches to give to all the kids, even the ones who comes back from school at 5pm. They can't afford fruit and all the volunteers would bring them biscuits and chocolates, so we thought we would bring fruit snd that was their absolute favourite. They died for apple and oranges. They were all so grateful. During the weekend in the middle we did the lake navasha and the safari near it. The lake was amazing expect they dont give you the chance to walk on the island, which I think is a shame and everyone should do. Its about 33 dollars extra per person and its so worth it. We got on the island and as we were walking a baby giraffe was walking our way, it was amazing. The safari was good too, bit of an early wake up but it was worth it as we saw lions, giraffes, rhino's... I am a 17 year old girl who did this, and this was definitely an eye opener for me. My mum and I got a private room which you need to book in advanced and pay for it aswell. I recommend this trip, all the local were nice. I also recommend you use uber instead of bolt as it worked more efficiently. Very happy with Volunteering Solutions

The Volunteering Solutions team has always been very kind and quick in answering my emails, always helpful and professional. My experience during these two weeks in Zanzibar went far beyond my expectations, both humanly and professionally. I chose to do surgical training throughout my stay and all the people I met in the operating theatres welcomed me so kindly that I felt part of them right from the start. I found helpful and open people, as well as attentive professionals. I'm very grateful to everyone. I had the opportunity to observe different healthcare professionals at work and the various dynamics inside and outside the operating theatres. They were days lived intensively, during which I learnt a lot not only on a working level but also on a relational level. In addition, at the local coordinator's house I met some incredible people with whom I shared this experience and with whom we formed genuine bonds. Living in his house was a chance to better understand the life of the locals and to immerse myself in the culture of Zanzibar. I am extremely happy that I made the choice of this medical volunteering programme because it was a unique experience, which was really essential for me to have confirmed my choice to dedicate my life trying to help others through my hands with surgery.

The experience was a real unique opportunity to live in a total different context, a rural city of the inner Ghana, Tamale, based on farming. Life there was different, with not a lot of comforts that we consider for granted in Europe, but probably it is even the reason why you can live in a more spontaneous way, enjoying the real priorities of the life. The warm and welcoming people, especially the always smiling children, I had the opportunity to meet gave me a priceless human feedback that only if you live personally you can understand. Supporting, brick by brick, the building of the new classroom in the Maltiti girls school, a school for pushing young women to attend school in an area where priorities for the girls are domestic tasks, even fundraising more than 2.000€, it was pure joy, that I could see in their eyes and fed my days, below a very hot sun. Teaching math to them and motivating them on the importance of education was a responsability that has no comparison in my previous work life. Beyond it I saw the rise of the FIRST footbal academy in Tamale, with the aim to support boys with the dream of becoming football players, ensuring they take seriously the school. All in only 5 weeks, a lot of energy and initiatives i am proud I was (and still now from Europe) contributing to, and that all of you can support if you want to live a life-changing experience!

I had an amazing experience volunteering in Tanzania through Volunteering Solutions. The staff was amazing at answering all of my questions in a timely matter and making me feel comfortable in this new adventure. I was travelling solo for the first time, so I had many questions/ comments and they made me feel very comfortable and assured with everything. They even reached out throughout my volunteering time to make sure I was doing well. I highly recommend Volunteering Solutions to anyone thinking about Volunteering. From the moment we met our host in the Delhi airport, we were so impressed with our experience. The meaningful initial conversations with VolSol staff to help us learn about the culture & what to expect were exceptional. The housing in every city was so comfortable, meals were beyond our expectations (so so good). The time we spent volunteering in each place was so meaningful - it’s difficult to describe! Our tours in each area we visited were unbelievably memorable & inspiring. The whole experience was incredible & we find ourselves back in those beautiful places in our memories often. I look forward to seeing more of the world with Volunteering Solutions. Thank you all for making everything about our trip so easy & so special. Namaste.

An unforgettable experience. I took part in the medical volunteer program and stayed in the accommodation provided. The people at the accommodation were polite, friendly, and it was a unique opportunity to meet people from different countries. The volunteer work was enriching — I shadowed doctors and nurses and got to see how South Africa’s public healthcare system works. My only complaint was about the smoking and noise at the accommodation during the night. In my country, Brazil, it’s not common for people to smoke, and in the accommodation, cigarette smoke would get into the room, which was very bothersome. As for the noise, it was disturbing at night when people returned from parties, and it kept me from sleeping on several occasions. Other than that, the experience was incredibly enriching, and I highly recommend the volunteer program!

A Life‑Changing Experience in Kenya My volunteering experience at Tigoni Hospital in Kenya was truly unforgettable and shaped me in ways I will carry for a lifetime. As a medical student, I felt so welcomed by the staff, the local community, and the team from Volunteering Solutions, who made sure every step was smooth and comfortable. During my time at the hospital, I had the chance to work in the casualty department, adult and pediatric wards, and even the operating room. But beyond the medical practice, it was the warmth and resilience of the patients and staff that left the biggest mark on my heart. Despite working in a resource‑limited environment, I witnessed a deep sense of compassion and teamwork every day. I also made friends from all over the world, shared moments of learning and laughter, and felt truly connected with the culture. This experience was more than an internship — it was an opportunity to broaden my understanding of medicine, deepen my humanity, and give back to the community. Thank you, Volunteering Solutions, for making this possible and for creating such a supportive, enriching environment. This journey has inspired me to continue growing as a doctor and as a person, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an experience that is both professionally enriching and rewarding.

Hola! Me llamo Arantxa Rosa, soy brasileña, y tengo 32 años. ♥️

Volunteering in Kenya as part of the two-week childcare program was an unforgettable and deeply rewarding experience. From the moment I reached out to Volunteering Solutions, I was impressed by their responsiveness and support. I made the decision to join the program just two weeks before departure, and they went above and beyond to make it happen on such short notice. The cost of £761 for two weeks felt incredibly reasonable, especially considering everything it included: daily breakfast and dinner (lunch was provided by the children’s home and during the safari), airport transfers, accommodation with bed linen, Wi-Fi, hot showers, and a two-day safari with an overnight hotel stay. It was great value for the experience I had. One thing I’d recommend for future volunteers is to check in about how many others will be on the program at the same time. During my second week, I was the only volunteer both at the placement and in the accommodation, which was a bit isolating. Also, in hindsight, I might have preferred to spend the safari weekend exploring Nairobi on my own, as the journey to Lake Nakuru took up most of the day. The childcare placement itself was the true highlight. It was humbling, heartwarming, and full of joy. The children were clever, funny, kind, and full of personality. We shared so many fun and memorable moments—playing, learning, dancing, singing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. It was truly special, a once in a lifetime experience.
