“Volunteering in Tacloban has been one of the most life-changing experiences I've ever had. I came to the Philippines alone from Spain, feeling excited but also nervous, and I left with unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a completely new perspective on life. The Nutrition Program allowed me to work with local communities, schools, and children while learning about public health in a real-world setting. Every day was different, meaningful, and full of opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. What made this experience truly special were the people. The local staff were incredibly supportive, the coordinators were always available whenever we needed help, and my host family made me feel at home from day one. I will always be grateful to Ate Tess and Angelica for treating me like part of their family. The children completely stole my heart. Their happiness, kindness, and resilience reminded me that sometimes the smallest moments leave the biggest impact. I honestly think they taught me more than I taught them. Of course, living in Tacloban means adapting to a very different lifestyle. The weather is hot and humid, resources are limited, and things don't always work the way they do back home. But if you arrive with an open mind and a willingness to learn, these differences become part of what makes the experience so valuable. This experience gave me much more than volunteer work. It gave me confidence, independence, resilience, and new dreams for my future. I returned home not only with more knowledge as a future healthcare professional, but also as a better person. Thank you, Volunteer Solutions, for giving me an experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I hope to come back to the Philippines one day. 🇵🇭🤍”

“My name is Carlotta Panini, and I am from Italy. I really enjoyed volunteering with the children at the Neel Barahi Secondary High School in Kathmandu, Nepal. The booking and organization process with Volunteering Solutions was simple and straightforward, and the coordinators helped us with everything. The only thing I would like to point out is that the website mentions an experience involving volunteers from all over the world, but in reality, it was just me and the friend I traveled with—even though we had been told there were other applications for that period.”

“Was a good 2 weeks away in Sri Lanka. I feel like the activities weren’t very challenging and quite easy. I didn’t learn very much about the conservation side either but all in all was a good experience and Acomidation and travel was superb.”

“Volunteering is a fantastic way for people who want to experience the real culture of a foreign country. Volunteering is also brilliant for solo travellers who want to go overseas. I volunteered in Morocco teaching English you have to have an open mind as their classes and content are so different. Prepare to feel a bit lonely and bewildered as you settle in with host families and their routines. In Morocco most things work on Morocco time but it’s easy to get into the swing of things. The support network in Morocco was good. I am currently looking at volunteering again. It is a wonderful experience to meet like minded people and explore another country with the safety net of people to assist you”

“Hi everyone I just stayed a month in ghana and worked in a Kindergarten, It was a very nice experience and I enjoyed my self. If I could change something it would have been the project because the kindergarten I was working at didn’t really give you the feeling of needing any actual help since they already had enough teachers, equipment and everything. Maybe by working in a poorer project one could have actually helped more. Appart from that everything went well and I would definitely recommend. PS: one month I think was the perfect stay, I would have maybe stayed max. 2 weeks longer but that’s it.”

“t was a wonderful and authentic experience. Volunteering Solutions allowed me to travel while helping people. I spent two weeks in Tanzania volunteering at schools. It was truly absurd to discover how people live there, but it was equally wonderful to meet the locals and be able to do something to help them. The facilities were fine and the managers were friendly. My only criticism is that there are many schools and orphanages in need that are not listed by the association, and if you want to get in touch with them, you have to organise it yourself.”

“My son and I did a medical mission trip to Kenya recently and was very satisfied with the program. The local program director was available if needed. We were hoping to go to one hospital however there was a strike so our director located us to another clinic and hospital. The Physicians and clinicians were very welcoming especially to my son who will be entering medical school. He was able to be very hands on and see how other countries provide medical care. I was also able to go to a local orphanage for a day with the child care volunteers which was very humbling. For the price that we paid I felt the living arrangements were substancial. My son and I chose not to stay together therefore I stayed in a all womens apartment. The other volunteers I stayed with were smart, compassionate and friendly. Although I am much older than them, I really enjoyed their company. The nighttime meal was provided as well as breakfast. It was very easy to get around Nairobi by Uber and I did not feel unsafe at any time”

“Hola! Me llamo Arantxa Rosa, soy brasileña, y tengo 32 años. Participar en el proyecto de voluntariado con niños en Cusco fue una experiencia enriquecedora e inolvidable. Desde el principio, fui recibida con mucho cariño por los niños, que, a pesar de las dificultades de la región, muestran una alegría genuina y contagiosa. Durante todo el tiempo, conté con el apoyo fundamental de Raquel, Jenny y de la familia anfitriona. Fueron muy atentos, presentes en todo momento, y me ayudaron con todo lo que necesité, con paciencia, profesionalismo y sensibilidad. En especial La anfitriona Cintia, su presencia hizo toda la diferencia para que la experiencia fuera positiva. Como sugerencia para el programa, creo que podría haber sido aún más impactante si el proyecto se llevara a cabo en una escuela con niños en situación de mayor vulnerabilidad. Aunque la guardería atiende a una zona humilde de Cusco, sentí que los niños ya contaban con cierto apoyo. Aun así, fue una vivencia valiosa que recomiendo a todos los que desean contribuir con afecto y conciencia, y aprender mucho sobre sí mismos y sobre los demás. Recomiendo esta experiencia a todos los que buscan un voluntariado humano, acogedor y transformador. “I joined NGO Support program - Human Rights and Women Empowerment in Morocco. First, thank you for support and kindness and support throughout my project. This was my first time to go to African continent by myself, so I got a bit tense at the beginning. However, not only local kind people but also VolSol nice staffs helped me a lot to have a great time there. I worked for local NGO, it has a significant meaning for me since I want to work in another country in the future. That was exactly what I sought for for a long time. Furthermore, I could have great friends there not only staying at Moroccan traditional house. Our relationship will long last. The weather was all beautiful, I didn't use my umbrella even once. However, there were some things that I wanted you to improve. Regarding the very volunteering, I wanted my boss to do instruction and showed me an over view of their work. I could not figure out what I should do for a few beginning days. And regarding house, there were largely 4 points. One is that there are no windows and 2 out of 6 lights didn't work at first, my room was always dark. And there was no laundry in my Riad, I had to pay extra money for cleaning service. And I could not rock up my room. My room was easy to get in, so I was always worried about my belongings and night. And there were no AC in the room, so I couldn't control the temperature in mornings and evenings. If you are interested in this project, support for local NGO, women empowerment and human rights, you should check your belongings well. There are literally nothing except for bed, toilet, shower, washbasin. Overall, the life there was good and will work well for my future, but I wanted to know the facility before especially for security. I think that this program is worth paying on the whole, since we can connect supporter anytime and have house and meals, and great friends. I recommend you join! but don't forget to prepare well enough.”

“Everything was fine, and I had the most amazing time! I wish communication with Volunteering Solutions were better; there was some misinformation or delay in the answers. It actually was a topic between some volunteers in Tanzania. I only felt safer when I talked to a former volunteer who went to the same program as me. Besides that, the people who hosted me in Arusha were the best, always very sweet and welcoming. I'd love to go back! “We finished our program few weeks ago and we really enjoy It! The coordinators are really kind and available. We had fun with children in the morning and we like discover and learn a bit about the culture here. At the beginning we didn't know anything about the plans of the week, and we were a bit disorientated, but everithing was fine and there was a good organization. “As a company, Volunteering Solutions made the booking and organisational process very straightforward and were always quick to reply to any questions I had. Upon arriving in the country that my program was based, they were also keen to stay in touch and followed up with emails to check in on my experience during my first few weeks. My only criticism lies within the programme itself - I volunteered as a pre-nursing student and found that in the hospital I worked in, there was very limited opportunities to learn - largely due to either language barriers (as very rarely did nurses or patients speak any English) or due to an unwillingness to teach. This was particularly frustrating, as even when asking the nursing staff if there was anything I could observe or help with, they would simply say ‘no’ and return to the task at hand. Therefore, I would suggest that the company and their partners in the program’s country are more in-touch and can collaborate to ensure that volunteers are getting the best working experience possible.”
