I did volunteering with my bestfriend there for 5 weeks (child care) and it was such a nice experience. We didn‘t know that we would stay in the new accommodation (because the old camp had to get renovated) (it was very new and pretty, but without aircondition) The staff is very nice! I have to say that Tianyar is a very small village, so you can‘t do anything in the afternoon and I got often bored. The other thing is that the working time is 2 hours per day, so we got often bored in the afternoon, bc we didn‘t do anything instead of chilling at the pool or relaxing.. If you like calm places and like to work only a bit than this is perfect for you! :)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us 😊 We’re really glad to hear that you and your best friend enjoyed your 5 weeks in the childcare program and that you found the staff welcoming and supportive. We appreciate your understanding regarding the accommodation change due to renovations. We’re happy to know you found the new accommodation modern and comfortable, and we’ll certainly take your feedback about air conditioning into account for future improvements. You’re absolutely right that Tianyar is a very small and quiet village. The program is designed for participants who are looking for a calm, rural environment and a slower pace of life, with time to relax, reflect, and unwind. Likewise, the shorter daily working hours are intended to ensure ethical volunteering practices and avoid overwhelming the local projects. Thank you for highlighting that this program is best suited for those who enjoy peaceful surroundings and lighter work schedules — that insight will be very helpful for future volunteers when choosing the right program for themselves. We truly appreciate your honest feedback and are delighted that overall you had a positive and memorable experience. We hope to welcome you again on another program in the future! Thanks Team Volunteering Solutions

The organization Volunteering Solution has supported us from the very beginning through the various phases of the project. Their assistance has been consistent. Unfortunately, they should more carefully vet the local partners they collaborate with, because the actual volunteering experience turned out to be disappointing and far from what was promised: the owner of the turtle sanctuary does not genuinely care about animal welfare, but rather sees it as a source of business and profit; the presence of volunteers is pointless and the activities outlined in the program are not fully carried out; there is a lack of efficient management aimed at improving the situation. Supporting our impressions, we observed poor coordination in the activities and the fact that healthy adult or juvenile turtles are kept solely to be shown to visitors. The positive aspect was the organization and management of the afternoon activities, which focused on tourism and learning about the local culture.

Volunteering Solutions association has supported us from the beginning throughout the various phases of the project, and their assistance is constant. Unfortunately, however, they should better monitor their local partners, as the actual volunteering experience has proven to be a huge disappointment: the owner of the turtle sanctuary doesn't truly care about animal welfare; instead, it represents a source of income for him. The volunteers' presence is pointless, and the program's activities are barely carried out. Our experience is further confirmed by the total lack of coordination of the activities and the fact that perfectly healthy adult turtles and hatchlings are kept at the sanctuary for the sole purpose of being shown to visitors. Positive note: the afternoon program of tours is interesting.

It’s great to know that you found their assistance constant. We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointment with the turtle sanctuary in Kosgoda and the lack of coordination in the program’s activities.

Dear Sara, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience with Volunteering Solutions. We truly appreciate your kind words and are thrilled to hear that you had a positive experience with us. Here at Volunteering Solutions, our top priority is ensuring customer satisfaction and providing a seamless volunteering journey. In regards to the hospital placement, you were placed at the largest public hospital placement at Zanzibar and the hospital does receive many students for internships and electives. Glad to know that you were able to change the department and things worked out fine. Before arrival of participants we need to send your documents and have you registered at the hospital, which in your case was for 4 weeks i.e 28 day period. You had chosen to arrive 2 days early in the program which included just extra nights accommodation and you could not start your placement early. Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback. We are grateful to have amazing volunteers like you who contribute to making a difference in the lives of others. Warm regards, Team Volunteering Solutions

Hi,I am Sandhi Paul from Calcutta of India.I’m a Medical Student, was doing Medical Volunteering in Nairobi of Kenya for the past one week.I had a very pleasant experience working at the Wema Nursing Home & Maternity although I’m a little bit upset that I wasn’t able to volunteer at Tigoni District Hospital(for which I specifically chose Kenya)which was far more advanced in infrastructure and patient versatility due to their ongoing strikes about which I wasn’t informed while applying for Kenya and came to know when I landed there. So yeah I wouldn’t say my time there was fully enriched as I didn’t got to see and experience complex surgical cases which doesn’t takes place that much at The Wema.
