“After 12 years of working as a tutor on this website with very good reviews I have to say that whoever runs it does not have the back of good tutors. It allows the customer to leave slanderous malicious reviews which are totally untrue to destroy the professionalism of the tutor. Tutors rely on good feedback to bring them more students. It only takes one bad apple that could ruin what was otherwise an excellent track record . There are people who are just nasty. The worst thing is there is NOTHING the tutor can do about it!!! Initially the slander was removed but when the client complained as to why her slander was removed the company reinstated it!!! Trying to get in touch with Mr John Underhill is also not possible and some of his staff who man the phones pretend to be the owner and manager. Yes indeed Miss Maury or whoever you really are . I wonder what your boss would do if he found out that you pretended to own this company. These people are not worth it. So if you have integrity and respect you would surely not allow slanderous reviews to be put up on your website. It's absolutely disgusting.”
“Tutor hunt used to be a service to connect students to tutors. It used to be for years the student would pay an amount to access the tutors contact details
Then suddenly they changed their model. Now they take 25% commission of every lesson booked. You have no option but to book through them. Instead of getting £100 they will now get £1000s per student and per tutor. It's money grabbing greediness and unnecessary. Tutors have no option but to take severe cuts and make prices go up substantially. Terrible for everyone apart from the CEOs laughing at the bank. They do nothing other than gatekeep connecting people for this money.”

I have been with Tutor Hunt for many years and have a clean DBS record and they boycott and prevent my profile to be public, because I asked them if they regularly check all their tutor's DBS records.
As an example, if one get a new DBS today, commit a crime tomorrow, one can be on Tutor Hunt, tutoring for 2 years before they see ones new application. This may allow many criminals to use their services to get to innocent children. How regularly does Tutor Hunt check the records of every tutor that holds an old and new DBS certificate?
Tutors, avoid Tutor Hunt at all costs. They avoid certain email questions. Go to First Tutors instead - they are one of the top 10 in the UK.
Parents beware. Ask Tutor Hunt to give you proof of a tutor's CLEAN record, and don't be satisfied only with proof of possessing a DBS certificate.”
“Tried to enrolvas an alevel maths tutor but was unable to as my dbs is 2019 and that is not good enough for tutorhunt though it is for my employer.they’re obviously on the make with this dbs check they want to do for you.when I contacted them I got no reply”
“Sarah is an Angel! My daughter, Hannah absolutely loves her, she enjoys her lessons so much with Sarah that she doesn`t want them to end. Sarah started tutoring Hannah only a few weeks ago and she has made amazing progress with teaching her and getting her ready for her GCSE`s. Hannah had her first maths exam on Friday and she was really happy with how it went. I know for certain that this was down to Sarah teaching her in a way that she understands and remembers. Sarah has given Hannah the confidence she needs to enable her not to panic and to put what she has learnt from Sarah into practise. “Dreadful website for tutors. Do not trust them with doing your DBS, they will keep the payment of £44.00, inventing inexistent problems with your application.
Avoid, use First Tutors or other sites instead.”
“I have been a customer since 2018. The way they treated my tutor who had over 50 5 star reviews was disgusting. The way they never answer their emails is also very bad. Thankfully we still have tution for my son from the same amazing tutor. Do not recommend this organisation”
