“First time tried tutor hunt for my son , year 11, event tough I was against online learning I wanted to give it a try, found GCSE English tutor Sujata and tried for 4 session. Unfortunately it didn’t work for us, 1out of 4 session was informative rests was a waste! Neither my child was tested for his knowledge nor was provided any program /structure during these 4 session. She literally made him copy notes during lessons other than teaching which I believe that should have been emailed to us , thus my son would be well prepared and ready for making most of his lesson rewarding.”

“As a long standing tutor with Tutor Hunt, I am also shocked to suddenly discover the changes in costing. I had no idea about this until I logged on yesterday. To suddenly increase commission charges so much seems wrong and smacks of profiteering as a result of the corona virus pandemic. The service no longer represents value for money which was one of Tutor Hunt’s many strengths. I am sad about this.”

“Tutor Hunt was recommended to me by a fellow teacher as I am now going part time. The system has changed. It used to be that teachers registered and then the site charged students to get the teachers details. Now they add a 25% mark up on all classes which drops to 20% after 100 hours. This seems to be a very high mark up for an online matching site. (I hope that they do not still ask for a payment for students to get in touch with the teacher)”

“I purchased the details of a tutor via the site and booked a lesson. I emailed the tutor with full details of exactly what I wanted to cover prior to the lesson. However, the tutor waffled and wouldn't follow the materials that I provided saying that he was teaching *real* programming then insisted on tutoring me on a topic that is of my competency level at this time. I then followed the lesson up with an email, again explaining what I wanted from him, he responded saying that this was ok, but if I wanted to learn programming (!!), then I would be better following his technique - He couldn`t detail any specific issues with the syllabus (I don`t think he`d actually looked at it) though, just that his meandering waffle was better. Since I am a glutton for punishment, I then hoped to book another lesson with Bruce and after 10+ emails full of miscommunications / misunderstandings, all compounded by being forced to book through TutorHunt`s archaic system, I gave up. I telephoned the administrative office to deal with a payment issue; the website requesting more money despite having already paid, and was continually given the runaround. Go elsewhere to find tutoring.”

“We were in a routine of once weekly tuition then tutor missed a couple of weeks for holidays; then one week we completely forgot about the lesson as my father had been ill. We got a text when we got in - the tutor had called while we were out. She text to say she wanted full payment for tuition and travel even though she didn't wait. I said I would pay her so much but not the full amount, which I thought was fair. She was very annoyed by this and refused to come ever again on the principal. She let my child down.”

“Very satisfied with the service to find a tutor. The tutor was a great help to our daughter, however, the tutor canceled a few sessions because of personal circumstances and since the summer holidays, has never been in touch again. Therefore we looked elsewhere and didn't use your website again. Unlucky experience.”

“Unfortunately I've have had a number of teachers all of which have either stopped teaching me and blocked my number without any explanation or cannot share the same commitment I have to learning French. I have spent a lot of money obtaining details of teachers only to be let down over and over again. I will not be using this site any longer”
