“Pros: I am thankful that your hair dye is more natural and safer for me!! It is the very reason I chose to try it. The color lasts so long, without fading and it does a great job of covering my resistant gray hairs. For these reasons, I will continue using it. Cons: There should be a caution on the package that warns the first time user that the final, resulting color will be much darker than the stated color on the package. It was a shock, to say the least. Once I discovered this, I alleviated this problem by buying a lighter shade. Second issue I'm having is with the included conditioner, applied at the end. My hair is very fine, and chin length but there is not enough conditioner provided. The conditioner left my hair straw-like so I've had to reach for extra conditioner that I have at home. I've used two previous hair color brands that included excellent conditioners, so if Tints of Nature can improve this situation, your product would be 5 star!”

“I'm very glad I've discovered your product! My hair was starting to fall out and my scalp was irritated from chemical dyes. Your is just as good, if not better: no harsh smell, natural ingredients, hair feels good right after coloring. My only complaint is the dye is very drippy. I basically have to confine myself to the tub and have to keep cleaning up the color dripping on my face and chest. I put the provided cap on with a clip, but since the material is similar to cellophane it's pretty stiff and square so it's difficult to get a tough fit. I may just have to keep practicing ... Also, there's not enough shampoo or conditioner in the packets for my thick, long curly hair. Thank you! P.S. I'm in the US so I purchased your product at Whole Foods Market.”

Wow this is great news! We are delighted to hear that your hair is starting to feel better. Customer feedback is very important to us therefore we will send your comments on your experience to our product development team. Sometimes, if you have not tried already, sectioning your hair can help with the application process and to massage the colour in as you go to avoid any dripping. The cap has to be in a universal size and therefore it can be difficult to get the perfect fit. “Used the hair colour to cover grey, natural and previously dyed hair. The coverage is good. The grey hairs are now showing as a lighter colour to the rest. I have found my hair to be quite dry, even though I purchased the hydrating shampoo and conditioner, I also found that my scalp was very flaky afterwards - not sure if this was the hair colour or cleaning products. I find the conditioner to have no creaminess to it and does not feel like it is actually doing anything. I would probably consider buying the hair colour again but not the hair cleaning products. I find my current regime to be better.”

Hi Suzanne. Thank you for sharing your review. Grey hairs can be very stubborn to cover and sometimes need a bit more prep. Our Hydrate Treatment is great at preparing the hair and grey hair so you get the very best from your colour. Also depending on the shade and if you used permanent or semi-permanent all of which can affect the coverage results, our Customer Support team are more than happy to assist you on choosing your perfect colour for your hair or give you our very best tips on covering grey hairs. They can be contacted at happyhair@tintsofnature.com We would recommend maybe persisting with our Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner, as sometimes it can take your hair a few washes to get used to new products, especially ones that are very natural and gentle.

“The shine in my hair after the whole procedure was amazing. My hair looks healthy. An unpredictable outcome was the colour. I went for 7D, Medium Blonde, however I ended up ""Medium Brown"”

Fabulous! Tints of Nature Permanent hair dyes perform based on your base/natural colour. Depending on if you are colouring over colour or on your natural hair colour the overall shade result can vary. “I like the fact that there is less nasty stuff in the dye than most. I’d love for there to be even less chemical nasties in the future. Still trying to perfect the right mix of colours to achieve the right shade.”

“Permanent hair colour works very well. Fortunately, its a match for my natural hair colour. I used Tints of Nature to avoid certain chemical additives found in other brands.”

“As I have an aleregy to normal Tints...Tints of Nature suit me and I have been using them now for 2/3 years. My only gripe is that they fade quickly around the hair line.”

This is great feedback, thank you for your loyal custom. Sometime a pre-treatment can work to help prepare the hair for colouring, our Hydrate Treatment is great for this and our colour safe care products, like our Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner are specially formulated to prevent colour fade. As we all have different hair types and conditions we can experience colour fade at different rates. “Gentle on my scalp. Good coverage, but not completely covering my grey. Also takes a while to colour hair when you have to use the hydration treatment first.”

Thank you for your review :) yes...we understand it can take some time when pre-treating your hair before the actual colour application but we like to think of it as the perfect excuse for some tlc and pamper time. “It's better for your hair than dyes containing more Hydrogen peroxide. It does contain some so it can still take a toll on your hair and any improvement may be largely due to not using other products. I would suggest for those who take instructions as gospel that they *don't have to* comb through their hair after the first shampoo as hair is hard to comb without conditioner and you may pull quite a lot of hair out in the process. I added some of my own conditioner at the end as not enough in sachet to comb through easily. If I were this company I'd change the advice about combing through (yes, I know why the instruction says to do that, but it's not worth it for fine hair), add more conditioner and put *all* the ingredients in order of quantity somewhere they can easily be read. Have an old flannel to hand to keep dye from staining your face (as your hair is wet when dye is added it will tend to run). And use own cap and gloves if you have some to hand (you may need two pairs of gloves or wash off the gloves before removing them the first time). I love that this product isn't tested on animals. One question ~ how often would you suggest it's okay to use it?”

Generally speaking we would recommend colouring your hair with Tints of Nature Permanent Hair Colour between every 4-6 weeks depending on your hair regrowth, but this can vary between customer to customer. “I buy the semi permanent hair dye as I can only use completely organic dye. The product is very good, although you can get it cheaper elsewhere. The plastic hat needs to be elasticated as it just falls off, I use a shower cap. The gloves could be of better quality also.”
