“I bought semi-permanent colouring plus shampoos and conditioners. Have now used the colour and very happy with result. Colour and condition excellent and no allergic reactions to which I am prone. A bonus was finding the colourant comes with sachets of shampoo and conditioner so I did not have to buy them too. However I look forward to using shampoo and conditioner as my hair feels great! I would have given 5 stars but the delivery was a tad slow and had to be signed for. Otherwise very happy.”

Fabulous review thank you Claire! Our Shampoos and conditioners are definitely recommended when using our Tints of Nature colours as they are formulated to work together. Our care range has no harsh chemicals such as salts which strip the hair of colour, instead they contain certified organic ingredients to leave hair shiny and healthy with gorgeous colour locked in for longer! “Great colour. There are a lot of steps to follow, and lots of rinsing, but it's not difficult or especially time consuming to use. Left my hair floaty and light, with no product reside weighing it down.”

Thank you for spending your time writing a review for us Sarah! Our colours are specially formulated to be as gentle, natural and organic as possible with synthetic ingredients only used when there is no natural alternative. Due to this gentler approach, a little more time is needed when preparing the hair for colouring however this does ensure the best results possible. If you are noticing that your colour is fading quicker than usual then this could have something to do with the shampoos and conditioners that you are using. We always recommend that you use our care range when using our colours as they are specially formulated to work together to ensure that your colour stays gorgeous for longer. Our shampoos and conditioners do not contain any harsh chemicals such as salt, as these harsh chemicals actually strip your hair of colour. Instead our care range contains naturally derived ingredients to leave hair conditioned, healthy with colour locked in for longer.

“Very much like the product but the result is darker than I would like. To cover all grey I was advised to mix the very light blonde with a darker shade.”

Hello Lisa, 8 weeks is the recommended amount of time that we suggest before you have to touch up the roots however we do have a mixing set available for £4.99 which makes the process slightly easier. Our care range is specially formulated to work in conjunction with our colours to keep your colour gorgeous for longer. Many shampoos and conditioners contain harsh chemicals such as salts which actually strip the hair of colour. This could mean that your colour fades a lot quicker resulting in you having to touch it up more often. Unfortunately the rate at which your hair grows cannot be halted by any product but we do have a 3 colour bundle which means you can stock up on more for less which makes ordering slightly less of a hassle! “Have found delivery from manufacturers prompt- (not to many outlets up near me in Bromley Kent.) I feel pleased that the product is much gentler on the head than other dyes, I would like instructions just in English of course. I mix 3 colours together 4N 5N 5R This is a bit difficult to gauge each time (a third of each colour- the containers are not transparent so its guess work) so would prefer a wider range of self dyes to choose from. I gather salons can off a bigger choice? Also would like a comb attachment at the end of the nozzle to help part the hair easily to achieve better control over coverage. J Barnett”

Jenny thank you for your review it is excellent to hear that you are happy with our service here at Tints of Nature. We distribute to over 40 countries worldwide and because we are an eco-conscious company, it is better for us to produce one instruction leaflet than printing individual ones per language however we do understand that there are rather a lot on there. With regards to mixing your chosen colours, we do offer a mixing set for £4.99 which makes mixing, measuring and applying simple and easy. Understandably salons using our professional range do have a lot more variety due to the strength of activators etc. that they can use following their professional training. All of our Tints of Nature shades are intermixable and we have had advisors here who are more than happy to assist you in finding a formula to suit you. We will most definitely put your suggestion regarding a comb attachment forward to our Product Innovations Department. Thank you again for your feedback Jenny

“Have been using these tints for 18 months. No problems. I go to my local Salon in Beckenham. However, I travel quite a lot so I use the ones from the pharmacy when I travel. My only problem is .... It fades quickly & I end up with my root area lighter than the rest of my hair. I do it every 3 weeks as my hair grows very quickly. I mix 3/4 4N & 1/4 of 4CN I find the 4 N on its own is to dull. I like a warm tone...perhaps I shoul use another shade to mix. Your advice appreciated.”

Evelyn we are sorry to hear that you have been experiencing fading when using Tints of Nature. This is not something that should be happening and we have a couple of solutions that may be the answer. As you have said that the fading is particularly at your root area, we would suggest that you do a treatment prior to colouring your hair to ensure that it is in the best condition possible as healthy hair responds better to colour. We have a couple of treatments available that would be perfect for this pre-treatment, our Hydrate Treatment is the best treatment if you are covering greys too. We always recommend that you use our care range when using our colour as they are specially formulated to work together to ensure that your colour stays gorgeous for longer. Our shampoos and conditioners do not contain any harsh chemicals such as salt, as these harsh chemicals actually strip your hair of colour. Instead our care range contains naturally derived ingredients to leave hair conditioned, healthy with colour locked in for longer. Your formulation should be fine however we usually recommend mixing the N shade and the fashion shade, in your case the 4N and 4CH, in equal quantities but if you are happy with the colour you are achieving then you should continue to mix as you are, this formulation should not affect the rate at which your hair fades, it will be the other factors mentioned previously. “Hard to get an organic product that works but this one does, I have to colour my brown hair frequently as white roots show every 2/3 weeks and this covers well and gives a nice healthy shine. Having been warned about hair colours following breast cancer I am very pleased to find this product after much trial and error.”

“I bought tints of nature because it's one of the only hair dyes not tested on animals. I'm a natural red head, and I didn't want a radical change - just something to cover the odd white hair and combat the fade that seems to come with age! The shade I chose was perfect - very close to my natural colour, just a bit more vibrant. It's very easy to apply, and so much less messy than henna. My only criticism would be that it didn't seem to cover all of the whites, but I guess they are just stubborn!”
