“I recently completed a 120 hour TEFL course with The TEFL Academy and I wholeheartedly recommend it to those who may be interested in teaching EFL abroad. This is a thorough, intellectually challenging and rewarding course that will really get you thinking about the ins and outs of teaching and how to strive to be an excellent teacher. The practical 20 hour side of the course offers a really good introduction to the key components of TEFL, which will be then examined in considerable depth during the online part of the course. The focus on how to devise useful and stimulating lessons and deliver them competently, with a mind to the students' needs and abilities, is essential to any successful TEFL career. Through The TEFL Academy I have developed and honed the necessary skills to be a confident and very competent EFL teacher. I am also very grateful to the tutors who were prompt in giving useful feedback on the assignments and modelled to perfection the professionalism and good teaching skills that we, as TEFL students, are asked to aim for. “The 120 hour course started with a full 20 hours of classroom-based study, followed by 10 modules exploring everything you need to help you become a good Teacher of EFL. Tutors are quick to offer support and provide sound feedback. I recommend the TEFL Academy to anyone wondering where to study.”

“The content covered and methods of assessment used within the TEFL course with the TEFL academy was fantastic. Having to apply knowledge learnt in the form of essays, lesson plans, schemes of work and resources was a great way to really consolidate my learning. I also am a big fan of how quickly my work was marked and the high level of feedback I received. This has really helped me to improve and develop further. I will (and have!) definitely recommend to others.”

“I really enjoyed my TEFL course with the TEFL Academy. It was great to have a real life classroom element at the start. I met some lovely people in the course and we set up a Facebook Group to help each other with questions and keep us motivated afterwards. It was really helpful to have other students to talk to as you went through the online course. The online course was a lot more challenging than I expected, but I'm glad it was! The content and assignments were interesting and made you think creatively. I'm so glad I took the course. I feel confident now going into my first teaching job. I would definitely recommend this course if you are considering teaching English as a foreign language. Trust me, you shouldn't go into a classroom without this training! Its invaluable.”

“The TEFL online course was just right for me as a full-time employee. The flexible timescales for completion and all the materials and advice made available to students were of good quality. The weekend face-to-face part at the beginning of the course was very enjoyable although a lot of work.”

“Enjoyable weekend intro to TEFL. Nice teacher and a good social mix of people trying to work towards becoming EFL teachers. The course material is substantial and covers the work given in course texts available from other sources, so no need to think that cause its online its a cheap/easy version. Feedback was given quickly for submitted work and had positive examples of what could be done to improve or widden the range of ideas you can use within classwork. Definitly will give you a thirst for some classroom activities”

“TEFL Academy ran a fantastic course that I completed and received my certificate through 3 days ago and I've already used lots of the information and training from it in Skype interviews with schools! It's a great course that helps not just with the theory but allows you the chance to practice the practical side too. I can see me using a lot of my assignments in my teaching in the future. I am very glad that I chose to take a 120 hr course as all of the schools I have applied to so far have requested 120 hours for the certificate. The classroom aspect is also really helpful as 80% of the schools I have contacted requested to know about what experience I have had previously, so without the classroom aspect I would have been stuck! I haven't used the job placement aspect much as I've been looking for very specific schools on my own - so this is the only part that I can't comment on. I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to anyone - it's great that you can take the assignments at your own pace”

“I have just received my 100 hour home study TEFL certificate and can honestly say the experience was brilliant. The online aspect was well organised and the feedback was so helpful and insightful; it really helped with later assignments. I do feel that as a University student, I was at an advantage in terms of being able to write essays at a high standard and would recommend anyone who has been out of education for a substantial period of time, to brush up on their essay writing skills before embarking on this course. BUT, with all the information the TEFL academy provides you with, you should have everything you could possibly need! I now look forward to tutoring in this country before moving abroad next year hopefully! A great course that I would recommend to anyone and everyone that has a passion for teaching, the English language and seeing the world! Loved every minute of it! “TEFL Academy was recommended to me by a family member and I was not disappointed. The 20 hour weekend course was engaging and informative and I feel that this was a good introduction to the online section of the course. There were some opportunities to practice teaching which was also helpful. The material for the online course provided a good base from which to complete the assignments, especially when supplemented with online research and some books recommended by the weekend course instructor. Overall I am very happy with my TEFL Academy experience and am now planning to teach in a high school in South Korea, having used their jobs board.”

“I have just received my 100 hour home study TEFL certificate alongside my 20 hour practical certificate. Overall I am extremely happy with course of study that I chose. After much research I decided that the TEFL Academy best suited my needs as they offered a flexible online course which must be completed within 12 months. The flexibility of the course enabled me to read around each module before completing each assignment which enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the module topic - I was able to do this at my own pace. I was very impressed with the prompt assignment marking and feedback which was provided. The online course covers a healthy range of content which will be useful for any TEFL environment. I have now secured employment within the TEFL industry. I highly recommend the 120 course offered by the TEFL Academy. Good luck.”

“I found both the practical session and Online content provided both informative, easy to understand and helpful in terms of being applied to actual classroom teacher. The online content and assessments were very well explained, and the feedback and grading was extremly quick with detailed feedback and development areas highlighted. The classroom session was fantastic and my instructor gave some great ideas of classroom management and suggested course books to buy in order to support our course study. “After spending a good 4 or 5 years wanting to do a course like this, I finally got myself enrolled and started in January. It was without a doubt, the best decision I could have made. The weekend course is engaging and fun, though very tiring but hey, that's what hard work is all about. The online course is set out extremely well, with an easy to follow pace that introduces key aspects of teaching in just the right order. The assignments are thought provoking and enable you to really begin thinking like a teaching right from the word go, and if you need any advice or guidance, support is literally just a click away and the response times are usually same day. The timescales for assignments to be marked is outstanding and overall, I'm extremely impressed with the level of professionalism The TEFL Academy has shown. I highly recommend them!”
