“Ordered a pipercross filter for my mini, was delivered quickly in a nicely packaged box, i have used pipercross before on my 1.8T which was tuned to 200bhp and after 5 years of ownership it had 126000 extra miles after i had a top end rebuilt at 117k, in total when the gearbox finally gave out it had over 226000 miles, when i got around to dismantling the engine for spares, the bores were excellent condition, no ridge at tdc, the bearings both main crank and rod were in very good condition with very little wear, i put this down to two things, 1. it was serviced every 10k with fully synthetic oil, and most importantly 2. it ran a pipercross filter which kept dirt out of the engine, if dirt had of got passed the filter the engine wouldn't have been in the conditon it was in and it wouldn't have done 126000 miles extra to the previous owners 117k.”
