“Not that impressed. Ordered a box of 8 brownies and could not tell which flavour was which, I presume this is because brownies are not individually wrapped. There is no labels stating which flavour either so all tasted the same.”

“Disappointed, I bought these for my partner. It was meant to contain a couple caramel but they were apl mostly plain. On top of that the top of the brownies were completely stuck to the paper they were wrapped in, so it was just a bit of a mess really. Apparently they tasted ok for what that they were but wouldnt purchase again seeing as the flavours were wrong”

“Was quite disappointed! To be honest I was reallt looking forward to trying, I bought them as a gift and the first thing I noticed is that they didnt have plastic wrap on which I expected, so the brownies don't touch incase of allergies or dietary requirements, they went stale within about 2 days as we couldn't eat them that fast and it cost me £40. Now for the taste, it was personally way to sweet for me, I don't know why they would need to be so sweet but there was too much sugar... it was really hard to distinguish the flavours as even though there was a label, we still couldn't tell based off the flavours... most tasted the same. We reallt enjoyed the snickers one and coffee one but that peice seemed smaller than others and was the only one wrapped up which I was confused by.... The texture of the brownie was more like fudge than a brownie... Personally I would not order again. Sorry.”

“Ordered classic expecting luscious chocolate soft brownie - turns out it was wuite solid pieces with white chocolate pieces which I really didnt enjoy! Probably my fault for not checking out the specific product info. Disappointed”

Hi Chloe, Thank you for your feedback. Our brownies are 7cm x 5cm and weigh around 70g, which is actually slightly larger than most brownies sold by leading retailers and cafes. We try to base our portion sizing on customer feedback and have found the majority of customers have found this to be the ideal portion size, however we are constantly monitoring feedback and should the sentiment ever change, we would of course reconsider. “Very dissapointed considering the amazing reviews. The brownies were so moist they looked and tasted like uncooked dough, sorry but definately not worth the money and i wouldnt buy again.”

Thanks for the review Bev. Our brownies are intentionally lightly baked to give them a moist and fudgy texture (to differentiate them from the drier, 'cakey' varieties available). We're sorry to hear that they weren't to your taste.

“The courier left the brownies outside in the heat and the brownies were not great quality as a result. Disappointed and will not use again. I know it was the courier and not your brownie company but I cannot trust using this service again.”

“Not impressed to be honest had better elsewhere. No one who tried them said a lot about them either! Very disappointed and a waste of my money such a shame as I read so many good reviews and believed them all.”

“The gluten vegan ones were too rich and not sweet enough. Tasted burnt and bitter. They weren’t moreish at all. Quick delivery but wasn’t work the money I spent.”

Thanks for the feedback, Julie. I've had a look at your order and can see that you ordered our smallest box and also upgraded to DPD's (rather expensive) Saturday service, which means half of what you paid for was DPD delivery. Unfortunately, DPD shipping costs the same regardless of box size so you do end up paying for more delivery and less product than we'd like on the smaller boxes I'm afraid. We always monitor feedback on the size of the brownies - we occasionally have customers say they would prefer bigger ones and occasionally others say they're too big! As it stands most customers tell us that a 70-75g brownie is about the right portion size and we tend to agree, but we'll keep monitoring feedback and are completely open to changing it if that's what the majority of customers want. “The blondies were underbaked and the others brownies seemed a little old/stale and required warming. Delivery time was perfect.”

Thanks for the feedback Mark and we're sorry that we didn't meet your expectations on this occasion. Our Blondies are baked for a shorter time to ensure they don't dry out because of the higher flour content, so this will explain why they have a slightly 'wetter' texture than a traditional brownie. We bake our brownies fresh every day so they should never be old or stale, so we're disappointed to hear that they appeared like that. Would it be possible to send images of these to adam@homemadebrownie.co.uk so that we can investigate further? Sorry again that we didn't meet expectations. We have also contacted you directly to see if there is anything else we can do on this.

“Unfortunately I didnt think much of the brownies I ordered. Some tasted artificial and they looked quite boring too. The tiny size of them didnt warant the £20 cost. I have ordered from a different supplier since that were cheaper and they were more fudgey and gooey inside, plus had lovely decorations on top. Sorry but I wasnt impressed”

Thanks for the feedback Zoe! We're always looking at ways of improving what we do, so will carefully consider your points along with all the feedback we receive and look at any changes we can make! By way of immediate response to a few of your specific points: 1) there are certainly no artificial ingredients in any of our products; 2) we have looked at the size of the brownies a few times but the majority of the feedback we've had is that a 70-75g brownie is the right size for most people so we'll very likely stick with that portion size and; 3) we focus on trying to make the tastiest brownies we can, so avoid loading them with too much decoration that takes away from the taste. We are always looking at ways of making them look more exciting where we can though and will keep doing that Thanks again for the feedback - it's all appreciated!
