“It was a very good and comprehensive course. I enjoyed the videos as well. What was a bit disappointing is that upon completion I couldn‘t be offered a job in Hong Kong because I was not a native speaker. I have a degree in translation and studied in English, so I don‘t see any reason for why I cannot teach English.”

“This was a very informative course which covered many different aspects of teaching English. It was especially good to have the flexibility to complete this in my own time, and it includes video examples of classes which are really useful. I did have to do some extra research and revision on aspects of grammar I was less familiar with as the course is more focused on teaching methods and assumes the curriculum and syllabus will be provided by the school you work at. It is also 100% online with no personal tuition or feedback which I found a bit isolating at times However, following the course, I went straight into an online teaching position and found that I was a lot more relaxed about it than I expected and the information I received has proven to be very useful and relevant.”

“I thought the course was very informative. It had a good amount of content and used examples to support with understanding. Sometimes I thought it wasn’t explicit enough when it got more advanced and went straight into practice.”

“The course is adjustable to your availability and is explained in an easy and approachable way, however as I am a French teacher already I was expecting to be provided on materials and online help to find customers. Maybe if we have the possibility to act as a customers it would be much more clearer what we supposed to do. I enjoyed it though.”

“I am a qualified foreign language teacher and moved down from London to Bournemouth. I wasn't sure how quickly I would find a job and I knew there were lots of EFL schools down here so that's why I did the online course. I found it very easy to dip in and out of it and it fitted well around my schedule. The explanation of grammar, classroom management and videos of EFL lessons were all very clear. I also gained lots of ideas for games I could do in class, not just teaching English, but also to teach other languages. Two negatives - there were several spelling/grammar mistakes so these need to ironed out - it would be useful to link students with a local school to observe in person and maybe even team-teach for practice.”

“Great, easy course that includes all the information you need to become an EFL Teacher. The course administrator was very helpful and quick to respond. They also organized my practicum with an external learning centre. Only negative is that the course content needs a spell and grammar check. In some areas the information was 'waffly' and a careful review of this would make future things easier for future students.”

“I took the TEFL online course because I needed a piece of paper to say that I had taken a TELF course and one that would be widely accepted. This course met those requirements and has been useful for my career.”

“The TEFL course was very useful and equipped me with the skills and knowledge I need to be a competent teacher. It taught me how to deal with all kinds of students and how to clearly teach grammatical structures. There are lots of helpful links and resources on the website, even for after you have competed the TEFL course.”

“A thorough course that delivers the basics required to undertake a career as a TEFL teacher, though one should not consider this as being all they need, beyond the course you will need to revisit the materials to solidify its teachings.”

“The staff was so helpful when it came to navigating my 20-hour Teaching Practicum online in the pandemic. The course itself was engaging and offered ample examples and methods for teaching different content. My only suggestion is to offer students with more resources or advice for creation of materials, finding images or readings, and bridging the language gaps in environments where students speak no to very simplistic English.”
