“I ordered a pack of 6 but they all came with a sell by date of within 8 days. It said it was okay to freeze the packs so that is what I did. However, when I came to use them the ginger was too soft to grate or even chop. The chillis were also mushy and the seeds had turned black. I wouldn’t recommend buying them unless you intend to use them within a few days.”

Hi Deborah, when freezing the kits we recommend not defrosting - this will solve the issue of soft/mushiness you experienced, frozen ginger very tough - hence the need for a grater over a knife. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review here, glad you enjoyed the final results even if the process wasn't quite as you'd expect.

“Goan fish curry was out of this world.. sauce is outstanding, and very easy to make. Sadly I can’t say same for Persian Khoresh.. I followed instructions to the letter but it only tasted ‘ok’. Didn’t feel the effort of making it was worth the end result. Hoping the others in the pack are on par with the Goan curry 🤞🙏🏻”

“We tried a few of them and they were all very bland. We didn't end up using the last one as they had been so disappointing. A great idea but the flavour just wasn't there sadly.”

“Overall I was disappointed with Tastesmiths as I didn't feel that the product lived up to expectations of creating more authentically flavoured meals. The ingredients supplied were readily available in most small supermarkets and even when following the instructions meticulously, the end result was not really any different to cheap packet alternatives. Also, I had a missing ingredient in one of my pouches which was frustrating as I could not make the meal I'd planned that evening - although it was replaced promptly with no quibbles.”

“I have ordered these a few times now and sent some as gifts. They are awesome and you end up with healthy, authentic tasting food. I am vegetarian and all recipes show you how to easily adapt. They could also be vegan or gluten free. Yum”

“Love them all, have tried all the packs, marinades and the Indian feast. My favourite is the Goan fish curry and my husband loves the Chilli but all are excellent.”
