“Excellent fresh spices and ingredients provided in kits to flavour and accompany our meat or veg of choice make delicious curries, khoresh (Persian stews) and other ethnic dishes. Quite the clearest instructions I've ever used mean that the results are excellent and authentic and the quality (esp in lockdown when some items were otherwise harder even than usual to obtain) rival the best restaurants. I have been making curries for decades but these have been my best and I have learned a lot, even when subsewuently making dishes for larger groups or where I have experimented following the procedures recommended in these instructions. I STRONGLY recommend Tastesmiths which I now buy on regular subscription while also periodically making other dishes using my Tastesmiths experience (and my upgraded expectations and ever more demanding taste buds!)”

“Utterly brilliant spice kits. Easy to follow prep and instructions for an authentic tasting meal. The meals once made up also freeze well in the sauces. Loved the Persian Koresh and Goan fish curry! Fantastic value for money and quick delivery too.”

“A very easy way to make delicious and authentic curries. Quality ingredients that can be frozen and clear easy to follow recipes, each dish so far has been outstanding although I cook my curries for longer than suggested for a deeper smoother taste. Even with the full dose of chilli I've found them not to be too hot. The onion bhajis are to die for and my favorite the Persian khoresh is outstanding. These kits are a great way to introduce you to world of spice and are inspiring, good value and I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of my kits.”

“If you love your curries and don’t want to eat in a crowded restaurant, or suffer a jar of ready made sauce, I recommend you try Tastesmiths’s curry kits. All the wet and dry ingredients to make a fabulous meal - just add whatever meat, fish or vegetables you desire. But, I warn you - read and follow the instructions that accompany your pack. They have been meticulously written by someone who knows exactly what they are doing. For us, out in the sticks, we don’t have Asian supermarkets to drop in to. We don’t want to buy massive amounts of ingredients when we do go to town. Tastesmiths give you just enough of every ingredient; not too little to make a mediocre meal, not Too much to go dry in the cupboard. I urge you to try their offers multiple packs, for a very reasonable price. Although they have a long use by date, if for any reason you can’t use them in the time on the pack, bung them in the freezer. Still just as good I have been telling all my friends about Tastesmiths’s, because I want them to have the chance to cook a proper curry, at home”

“Every meal that I have made has been really nice and better than restaurants because of the amount of meat that is in it. I also like the fact that you fell involved in the cooking process by preparing onions, garlic, ginger etc...”

“Great idea but a bit pricey considering you need to supply so many of the more costly recipe ingredients yourself. But the recipes are tasty. Would be cheaper to just buy the spices in a shop.”

Our kits are designed as an introduction to scratch cooking curries, the extra little extra expense on top of the cost of the spices covers recipe development and the convenience of not having to source the harder to find herbs and spices.
