“It's a good cooking experience but I realise now that I'm confident enough to go back to doing my own thing, especially as I find myself adding WAY more chilli. Glad I tried it though. It's great if you're not confident doing your own thing.”

“The curry’s that I have tried so far have been really good, flavoursome and authentic. I live in France so paid the European postage rate for delivery but this didn’t stop the French post office charging a further 16€ for customs and administration. Sadly this makes further purchases prohibitively expensive so I won’t be ordering for delivery to France again☹️”

“Went for the multipack of 8 kits and popped 7 in the freezer, as I undertsand that they can be used from frozen. Hoping this will encourage me to cook from scratch more often during the week. I've made the chilli, which is a bit time consuming (more of a weekend recipe than mid-week), but it's delicious, I got 4 medium sized portions from it. The smoky chillies make all the difference. I've also made the Makhani, using chicken thighs and spinach. Very nice, frangrant and nice heat levels. My favourite so far has been the daal. I added a tin of sweetcorn to mine. It cam out very 'soupy' though, so I'd say you should add less water if you're looking for a thicker, stew-like daal. I'm looking forward to trying the others and will certainly buy more when I've got through these.”

“I haven't been able to try the recipe bags yet, but living in France my enthusiasm to place further orders has been dealt a blow by the 17 euro import duty I had to pay on receiving the bags Brexit just keeps on giving!!!”

“Only a four as so far have only tried two out of the eight but would recommend in what I've tasted so far; the Goan Prawns and Persian Khoresh. Next up is the Jamaican Jerk. So far so excellent in taste and value.”

“All essential spices are provided, it's quite time consuming to prep all these. So far we have had 2 of the curries, and enjoyed both. But I don't think I'll order again, I think it's expensive for what it is.”

Thank you so much for your 4-star rating of The Tastesmiths, Sharon! Using our kits saves money and reduces food waste. The ingredients included in our kits are in the right portions. When buying the same ingredients, including up to 10 spices in a blend, the total cost will be in excess of our kits and most likely result in wastage or accumulation in store cupboard of stale spices.

“Arrived approximately a week after ordering with a useby date of approximately 4 weeks. Will have to freeze some as we won't eat that many curries in that time frame. Unfortunately the green chillies began to go mouldy within 2 weeks of delivery. However the 2 curries we've had so far have been easy to prepare and cook,and tasted very good”

“Delivery prompt and nice packaging. I’ve had 3 of my 6 and I’m impressed far so. It’s a bit fiddly and not exactly “fool proof” but if you’re willing to put an extra 20 minutes in then it’s worth the effort. Highly recommend.”

“Made Onion Bahjis, Rice, Kurma Masala and Rogan Josh - my first time using Tastesmith. ++ Instructions - very clear and easy to follow and execute. Results - All of it tasted grest, Bahjis and rice were a pleasant surprise, both do light as nd tasty. -- Quality of peppers, chilies, garlic and ginger very poor - dry and shriveled. Hope the rest of the packs I bought are better.”

“Food products are excellent and worth 5 stars. Standard delivery took ten days which is unacceptable. I ordered on a Tuesday for a planned curry on Saturday night which seemed reasonable because they use 2nd class post. Needless to say a change of menu was required!!! I have used Tastesmiths for over 2 years and their standard delivery times used to be 2 - 4 days. Premium delivery is expensive - almost the cost of 2 of their curries.”

“Very happy with these kits. Have purchased in the past and most recently. Happy to read you may be increasing curry leaves. I very often make up the packs like a BIR gravy and freeze to add protein at a later date. Works a treat.”
