“Website did not warn of long delivery wait until after I made my purchase. Site said approximately 1 week for delivery this turned in to almost 2 weeks. When items arrived they only had 5 days left before they were out of date, a shame considering I ordered 8 items, ended up having to freeze most to ensure we can use them which is disappointing as one of the main reasons for ordering is because they were all fresh ingredients. Will not be ordering again.”

Hi Denise, have you contacted us for support on this? Sounds like a Royal Mail delivery issue, unfortunately. All our orders are sent tracked and packed to order so should reach you with around 2 weeks on their dates, if they're not we're happy to supply replacements for the cost of postage.

“Not a long use by date on them , less than 10 days, only found out on Facebook you can freeze them and use as required, this was not mentioned on package's”

“Placed order online but there was no indication of when the delivery would be made. It came fairly soon though and the ingredients looked ok.”

Hi Lousie, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback here! We advertise our kits as arriving with around two weeks on their use-by dates (tastesmiths.com/help), should you worry about not using them in time, they perform perfectly well from frozen, apologies if this wasn't clear enough on the packaging! Very much hope you enjoyed the meals you cooked with us!

Hi Garry, our delivery times are detailed at tastesmiths.com/help and when we have delays the information is listed during the checkout process so customers are aware before ordering. For 'rush' orders we have the option of next day delivery.

“Nice gift (8 packs for £25) but would have liked the use by dates to be better advertised. This was for my son at uni and he'll not be able to take everything as he won't be able to keep them in the freezer because of limited space. All use by 3 Jan so very short dates which I understand, but would preferred to be advertised better.”

“The order I placed was excellent however I then had another order delivered and charged which I didn't make. As I couldn't prove I hadn't placed the order other than refer to my account which showed only 1 order was placed I accepted the cost but the trust wasn't there so won't be ordering again which is a shame as the product was good”

Hi Maureen, apologies to hear the above, sounds like you'd originally purchased our discounted 'Regular Order', which comes monthly and is for a minimum of three months. Everything else in our store is sold as a one-off.

“A good idea but still struggles to match the authentic taste of a top curry house. Needed to add more spices then included in the pack to give it the level of taste and heat that we like.”

Hello! All our kits comprise of purely fresh ingredients and as such have a limited shelf life, we have full information available on our website before ordering which details the dates which our kits will arrive with, and also storage instructions. Our kits do perform perfectly well from frozen, apologies if this wasn’t clear enough when ordering - I shall pass your feedback on to our advertising team.

“The recipes are lovely but the content given is just the spices. So for mr this was to simple and I wouldn’t buy again. I feel for me I can get the recipe online and buy the spices.”

Hi Nikki, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. As well as the spices (which we grind and blend ourselves) we provide the fresh ingredients along with a recipe in correct portions for a hearty meal without waste. Often to cook a curry more ingredients need to be bought than will be used resulting in leftover fresh ingredients or spices to store away in the cupboard. Of course this isn't a problem if you're cooking a curry often, in which case we salute you! Sam, hello@tastesmiths.com

“Excellent spices. But very short "best before" dates. I ordered 8 kits, but ended up using 2 and throwing away 6. Entirely my fault for not realising the fresh ingredients would go rotten so quickly - but there really is little point in buying 8 kits at a time unless you eat curry every day.”

Hello! Sorry to hear you had to waste some of your order. Our kits are fine to freeze and perform perfectly well directly from the freezer, this is mentioned on our website (tastesmiths.com/help) and on the back of the kits which shows the best before date.
