“Booked a cottage last minute with Sykes the day before we were due to go and the money was taken. All the usual emails sent confirming the booking and receipt for payment. Later that day, after arranging all the stuff araound the visit and family we got a call saying sorry it wasn't available !!! but he said we could have a 10% discount for the trouble. An email was sent offering other properties that frankly didn't match what we had booked, all except one that was much more money. The email offered us it with a discount so we rang to book it. We were told the chap on the phone had no permission to discount anything and the price sone £250 more would stand. DREADFULL CUSTOMER SERVICE”

“Easy to book, easy to navigate the site. Insurance conditions are a tad confusing. If you pay the minimum deposit then the rest presumably there's no refund upon cancellation But if you pay half then cancel you don't!”

We returned because the little cottage is just perfect. It’s got a lovely layout. Perfectly clean and comfortable. Fantastic base to visit many places along east coast. The village is a very sleepy and nothing there but peace and quiet.”

“12 Adults, 2 children + 4 dogs all had a great time at Clarence House in Dalton in Furness.
Very spacious, clean and well equipped property consisting of a main house with an extemely large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area, 2 downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom with one large upstairs bedroom and 2 single beds. Adjacent there are 2 x en-suite cottages. Behind the main property is a converted barn annex with an en suite bedroom upstairs and two bedrooms, lounge area and bathroom in the downstairs annex. The property boasts a lovely courtyard and behind the property adjacent to the annex, there is a large grass enclosed play area. Safe for children and pets, and ideal for games. Last but not least the property has a large jucuzzi hot tub.
The property sits in the heart of Dalton with several amenities, including several pubs, shops and eating places. The town has a football and a cricket ground, parks, a lovely historic church and a market square. The striking feature in the square is a small castle.
Dalton is ideally situated next to the Lake District, so plenty to do if you prefer to explore rather than sit in a hot tub all day. Very close to Dalton (5 minutes drive) is a lovely large beach and also Furness Abbey. Anyone planning to spend a few days with family or group of friends will definitely not be disappointed coming here. We had a fantastic time. 10/10”
