“I received a text before we arrived to say if any help was needed to contact a number. I did contact on our second night and got no reply. We left two days later and didn’t get an acknowledgement. Very basic accommodation but we were expecting that. We always have a welcome pack. There was a couple of sachets of coffee and sugar but no milk or dog treats, (which we weren’t expecting) in the book there were messaging thanking for the dog gifts.”
“We absolutely loved staying at Stewart House in Whitby and booked through Sykes Cottages as usual. The house was amazing! Beautifully decorated, loads of bathrooms so we didn’t have to share and great location to the harbour, shops and pubs.”

Very clean.Well equiped with everything you needed in the kitchen and shampoo etc in the bathroom .Really nice touch leaving a bottle of wine .chocolates and biscuits for us .I,ll definetly be looking at staying here again .Had abrilliant weekend with my children”

Just a fantastic place in many aspects
A few feedback points.
The gate at the front of the house to the road doesn’t shut as you can’t get the bolt into the hole and it was windy while we were there meaning the gate was swinging open I’m sure this is a quick fix for somebody with tools.
The light at the back wall of the Jacuzzi, didn’t work. This is the light on the wall with an up and a down projection. Not the end of the world but just feedback again.
The gate at the side of the house which is the only route round the back without coming through the house, has a cover that you pull across. Unfortunately where you are supposed to connect that to once pulling it across, for privacy, the pole has come away and so you have to fudge it a bit to make the cover stay in place.
These are small things and did not detract from a fantastic experience for the week.
If we ever come back again to Skipton, we would certainly strongly consider this place.

“Stayed in Sykes cottages a few times now, excellent service. On one of our stays we had a problem with the entry door, we rang them and they answered straight away and had the problem sorted very quickly.
The last stay was in Southwold in a fantastic apartment called Pier View, it had wonderful views of the pier and sea, was very well equipped, comfy beds and light and roomy.
Will definitely be using Sykes Cottages again.”

“Stayed Feb 2026 for 5 nights. A lovely property and very comfortable. It is all new inside, great quality and very clean. Everything was perfect for our stay. Great having the log burner too on the cool nights. We were 2 adults and 2 spaniels so plenty of space. The enclosed front and rear areas worked well for the dogs. There is a playing field near and longer walks for the from the property as well. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend Milford and Sykes Cottages”

Spacious rooms, and, as we do alot of cooking we found there was everything we needed for the Sunday roast. Lovely grounds with amazing views and plenty of wildlife around.
