“Small but well appointed cottage , well situated near centre of Beaumaris. No parking in immediate vicinity but we always found a parking spot nearby. The stairs might be a problem for those with mobility issues, otherwise we loved it”
“A quirky and fascinating cottage which is full of character. It is like stepping back in time but that said it is warm, comfortable and cosy. Fantastic position in a lovely part of Wales, the views are amazing. Lots to see and do from the doorstep including a canal boat trip and steam train ride. We were able to leave the car behind and enjoy the local bus routes as the stop is a few minutes walk from the cottage.”
“Very comfortable cottage in a good location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Yes, the parking is tight but I managed to get my car in & out with lots of toing & froing. Hard to fault. One small niggle, i'm pretty fit and as there where no grab rails around the bath it was hard to get out because of the P shape bath. Wine, Milk & biscuits where a lovely suprise & very welcome ;-)”
“We booked for a family stay and it was simply perfect!
Lovely views from the property, beautiful property inside and out, well thought out interior and gardens too - we could sit anywhere around the property to enjoy sun/shade and with great privacy.
So well equipped we wanted for nothing, and a brilliant games room to keep us all entertained.”
“Hillcroft is a lovely property but the kitchen is very cramped for 6 people not helped by enormous cupboard doors where all the china etc was stored in order to access it someone had to stand up and move out of the way.we enjoyed the aga even though none of us had used one before!! Beds very comfortable...some hooks for coats might be helpful but otherwise a great property in a good place for seeing lots of NT properties.”
“Very nice cottage had a problem with the heating which was dealt with very efficiently unfortunately left food in the fridge after leaving which the owners were very nice about.”
“Wonderful choice for location and wide range of accommodation. Used regularly for years and found them to be very supportive when necessary. Unfortunately rather let down recently by inability to access insurance cover when a medical emergency forced cancellation of holiday.”
“Sykes is a great holiday let company, easy to book a holiday and recieved plenty of notifications. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because once a holiday is booked the only way to contact Sykes is via WhatsApp which is fine but they may take longer than 24 hours to reply saying has your enquiry been resolve 'yes or no' if no you have to start all over again, very annoying.”
“The cottages are cared for , each with a different identity in lovely areas of the UK. Choosing peaceful locations, close to a village or the countryside. There's a style to suit the size and needs of individuals and families.”
“Even though everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay there were one or two things that could be improved on.
1. There were numerous cobwebs around the property.
2. Suitability for dogs. The grassed area around the cottage could be fenced off so that dogs could not access the main road so allowing the dogs more space to run around. Also on arrival had to bath dog because she had rolled in dog mess which obviously had not been picked up by previous occupants. Very disappointing.”
“The house at banks street is in a brilliant position being a few steps from the middle of the town whilst being on a quiet one way street. Parking was easy, just a stroll away. The house is really well stocked with eco products and we felt very welcome to use everything. The beds, linens and towels are top quality. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Great communication from the owners too. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay again. Horncastle is a fabulous little town and great spot for exploring more of the area.”
