“Have used Sykes for many years and never been unhappy with their properties. Always clean and well maintained and descriptions and photos accurate. Sadly this time we did not get the usual email a few days before our holiday and I was worried that there might have been a hitch. I tied to find a phone number for contact unsuccessfully so used chat bot. I needed a quick answer which it couldnt get and it said someone would call me back. 48 hrs later i got a message to say the chat was being ended. Not very satisfactory”
“Lovely little chalet. Got everything you need and very clean and tidy. Very comfy beds. It was nice to have the little supply of tea etc and lovely cake left out for us on arrival.
Only problem we had…. and that was our issue, was the access for my mum as she doesn’t walk well, but we were lucky and managed to park round the back (the tradesman’s entrance 😊)……oh and weather we picked the wrong week for sunshine.”
“Accommodation was very good with lots of well chosen, quirky items of furniture, which I loved! Well stocked with everything you need, clear directions on dos and donts, and concise information folder on all appliances within the house. Clean and tidy on arrival with lovely box of shortbread left for us, and a pint of milk in the fridge too. Kilmarnock Arms Hotel (5mins walk) served lovely food and well stocked Co-Op 5mins walk away too.”
“Beudy Tyddyn thoroughly deserves it's five star rating: very well appointed, comfortable and beautifully situated on the sheep farm. It's central location on Anglesey meant that a 30 mins or so drive gets you to anywhere on the island, or mainland locations like Caenarfon or Bangor. William was a great host too. Thoroughly recommended.”
“A comfortable and well-furnished flat.
Very nice location and helpful staff at the NTS property
It would benefit from much better lighting in the sitting room (dark, even during the day in summer with no main light, just a couple of reading lights) and a decent-sized fridge, (a tiny, under-counter fridge with a small ice compartment was barely adeqaute - even for two people, let alone four).”
“This was not up to Sykes usual standard. The settee and cushions were covered in dog hairs and smelt of dogs. Also the rug under the coffee table was covered in dog hairs and food crumbs. It looked as if it hadn't been hoovered, but even hoovering would not have got rid of the small, because when we hoovered the hoover just made the smell worse. Perhaps the filter need to be changed. The towels were very hard and the towels in the downstairs bedroom were the thickness of a tea towel. There wasn't any instructions for the cooker or microwave. The instructions for the broadband didn't have the user name and we eventually found then on a very small label on the inside of the visitors comment book. There wasn't any instructions a not asking us to put the green bin out on Wednesday, but there wasn't any instructions only a blue bin for recycling, we ended up leaving our general waste rubbish on top of the bin. We were very disappointed in this prperty as in the past Skye's cottges have been a very high standard.”
“Very well appointed just felt it could have done with a better clean . The stair carpet needed a hoover, the property was ready when we arrived so I felt maybe the cleaning was rushed”
“We would reccomend sykes to anyone always true with information about the property, area lovely clean cottages next year will be our 4th year of booking with sykes”
“Easy to search and to refine my choices. Great selection of cottages and holiday homes offering all sorts of experiences. Once I had made my choice simple instructions to book my desired holiday home.”
“Absolutely loved the place, really clean and bright, the beds were comfortable, the view's from the bedrooms were amazing, we would definitely stay again.”
“We had an amazing week at Sea’s the breeze in Clonakilty. Looking out over the sea. Amazing view. This is our 4th holiday with Sykes/Hogans Irish cottages and I’l have to say the standards of each of our accommodations was 5 star”
