“I have been lucky with all the cottages I have booked with Sykes. Never had a bad one yet. The only problem has been some are advertised as being dog friendly. Which they are in that they accept dogs but don't have a secure garden which is essential. A open plank fence leading to a meadow with sheep in it is not acceptable as you have to make sure you have the dog on the lead when outside. Luckily the last two have been oerfect”

“This was a good choice for us with all the bedrooms we used (two families) being en-suite. All the rooms were large and roomy and displayed quality with the furnishings and equipment. The kitchen was excellently equipped with quality items. The welcome pack was really impressive with fresh fruit, wine and bacon and eggs - everything there for a kick start to the holiday.
The location was down a narrow road and was ideal for Keilder, Cragside and the Roman Wall of Hadrian. A quiet and lovely place and the ideal holiday home away from the rat race of today's living.”
“Excellent house! Beautifully styled and very well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need which is always important to me and we like to cook together. Bedrooms are well spaced and comfortable.
The views are stunning.

“We were very pleased with the accommodation, the comfort, the decor, and it's location near North Bay and Peasholm Park. It was well fitted with a good kitchen. However, the top shelf of the wall cupboard in the left hand corner was out of reach. We had to stand on a chair to reach wine glasses and relocate them on a lower and accessible shelf. It was good to have the private carpark to the rear. But when apartment 6 place was occupied, manoeuvring was very tight. Tiny criticisms, but we had a very enjoyable week there.”

“Hayloft Cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Sat Nav needs Stack Yard Cottages to find it. Despite the weather we had a pleasant week. The area was new to us and easy to explore.”
