“As always the lodge was immaculate and we even had a welcome gift from the owners as well as some dog treats for our beagle cross. Sykes Cottages have never let us down and we always have a wonderful time at a great price. The only damper on the holiday had nothing to do with Sykes but the fact that so many self entitled dog owners decided it was their right to ignore the dogs on lead rule around the park and let their dogs (which lacked both social skills and recall) run free.”
“Booked a cottage via the app. When I got to the payment stage it froze at the point where I'd submitted my card details. Not sure what to do I tried ringing the phone number at the bottom of the page but just got automated messages as it was out of office hours. Eventually I closed the app, checked the payment hadn't gone out of my account via my bank app, then went through the booking again. All ok second time but left a bit frustrated.”

Their booking processes and communications are clear and helpful. On one occasion when a health issue arose close to the time of our holiday they were sympathetic and helped communicate with the owner to rearrange the holiday.”
“Lovely property... Great for families, we stayed with 3 teenagers... 2 en suites and a main bathroom plus a downstairs loo meant no queuing for showers... kitchen/ diner area very adequate for our needs, we cooked a few evenings and had everything we needed, all in working order... lounge area may be a little small if 6 adults were staying but it was fine for us... bedrooms and bathrooms all good sizes, plenty of wardrobe/drawer space for a week... enjoyed our visits from the chickens and the owners gave us some fresh eggs which was lovely... very secluded spot and great location for visiting north yorkshire locations, less than an hour from the sea side.. local amenities in Great Ayton and Stokesley only 10 mins away, we had a lovely meal at the pub down the road... would highly recommend for a nice quiet week away.. ;-)”
“Varley Villa was very conveniently situated to exploring Newtown and the surrounding area. The property itself was presented immaculately, with many homely extra touches, the only disappointment was the poor quality of the Internet which affected the TV reception, making it impossible to actually watch a programme from beginning to end.”

“Shore view is a lovely property, well equipped and nicely situated. The lounge being upstairs is perfect for viewing the bay but can be hard work when having to go downstairs to use the kitchen. It would be nice if the closeness of the railway line was mentioned in the details as this can get a bit annoying when the French doors and windows are open.”
“I have had an account with you for many years with my original email address earning the maximum bloom rewards. I recently changed my email address and instead of changing this on my original account it has created a completely new account. Now this is where the problems arise as there is no number to contact to speak to anyone any more. I rang the number for new bookings who immediately palmed me off to another dept. The lady on this department said she would email the relevant dept, to sort this out and would ring me back, which hasn't happened. I then managed to get an email sent but never got any reply to this. How difficult can it be to link the two accounts into one with my new email address and the bloom rewards carried over?”
“Very good cottage although turns out it was double booked. This put a slight dampener on the first night and would have appreciated a call from the owner. Otherwise the accommodation was excellent. The only thing it needs is a mirror in the upstairs bedroom .”
