“Have booked holidays through Sykes Cottages on a number of occasions now, going back over a few years and have always been satisfied with their service to customers. The description of the properties, where we have stayed, has always proved accurate and have never been disappointed. The ease of booking on line has always been straightforward and the regular information received, leading up to the actual holiday, has been very helpful and useful. An extremely happy customer.”
“A very comfortable cottage with lovely views. A couple of snags: the garden was advertised as enclosed but on one side there is a ha-ha with no fencing so rather dangerous for dogs and children. The other problem was that there were no instructions/information on the cottage, i.e. nearest doctor, vet, shops etc and how to deal with recycling/rubbish. There were also no replacement bags for the rubbish bin in the kitchen. Despite these minor snags, it was a lovely cottage and we enjoyed our stay.”
“No way to immediately undo a mistake on your booking without paying a fee to rectify that. No way of finding out answers to questions about a property before you book. No way to contact Sykes consitently. I'm currently trying to find somthing out and your livechat/message & Whatsapp service and referring me to each other!”
“I have booked with sykes for many years.and ive never had a problem.there reliable reputable and the propertys are always good .i never book with anyone else”
“As a family we had a great stay at isallt, highly recommend - spotless cottage and farm grounds - great location - all the family enjoyed as did our sheepdog / would definitely return !”
“Prospect House was a beautiful house. Only a couple of slight issues. Bedroom windows at the front of the house wouldn't open, looked like they'd been painted shut. Which wasn't great as it was hot and humid in the rooms. All bedroom windows could do with blackout curtains or blinds as it was very light early in the mornings. The local pub on is permanently closed but it didn't say that on the write up for the house, which was a bit of a let down.
Other than that is was a stunning location, great places to walk with or without a dog.”
“We loved the location right beside the canal and locks at Stoke Bruerne, and the 4 story tall cottage kept us fit during our stay!!
However, we had issues with workmens vans parking in the limited space behind the row of cottages which is supposed to be solely for residents of the cottages.
We also had concerns re the cleanliness in the basement kitchen, the room always smelt "damp & musty" and there was considerable mould growth within the kitchen cupboards, and mould on kitchen crockery and utensils.”
