“After booking and paying for our stay we received an email asking us to cut our stay short by one day- this completely ruined our break as we were celebrating an 80th birthday on the Friday evening. Cost us £160 for one night bnb in a local hotel of which £124 was refunded by owner for our cutting our lodge stay short and we have a dog. The upheaval turned our break into an absolute fiasco due to further problems with our hotel room. Sykes said the owner had not told them to block out our Friday night stay so their systems allowed us to book it. The excessive stress this caused due to being disabled and having a young dog completely ruined our week away!! Feel very reluctant to booking through Sykes again. On a very small plus side the accommodation we booked was lovely, very clean and comfy in an idylic location on Manor Park and are very grateful for their refund.”
“Excellent position, a true busy working farm. Lovely, spotlessly clean accommodation and well equipped. Plentiful local walks and pubs and further attractions. And on our early season stay, beautiful weather.
A welcome pack would have been appreciated, especially so if arriving late and finding the only shop in the village closed.”
“We had the most perfect house for our recent stay in the Highlands to celebrate my 60th birthday! There were 11 of us - beautiful rooms (good hotel standard) with en-suites. Loads of rooms for us to mingle - fantastic large kitchen and dining area. Beautiful grounds and amazing views”
“Impossible to contact. Booked a holiday as it was within 2 weeks pwas not able to alter bed configuration online, but when I rang noone answered. Tried the booking line they answered immediately, but did not help, said they would transfer me, again noone answered. Had to contact the owner, this should not happen. Subsequent booking does not show on dashboard, contacted Sykes and still does not show on dashboard. They also send nagging emails about everything you need to do (common sense) before leabing the property. Worse company to book with, if I can book with anyone else. Very poor communication apart from telling the customer everything they need to do!”
