“The Sunday evening prior I was feeling apprehensive about how the week would play out, at what pace it would be delivered and if I could even keep up with the course.
The Tutor, Steve Carr immediately allayed any of those feelings from Day #1; he possesses considerable skill and experience in putting everyone at ease. Initially, a lot of the class were nervous of being on show / video call, etc but as the day warmed up, more and more of us took active participation and the course was all the more enjoyable for it. A lot of interaction with each other, sharing ideas and experiences really helped too - a few of us have agreed to keep in touch, which is a testament to Steve's teaching style - his ability to build group rapport very rapidly.
The interaction with Vinh Nguyen from the Civil Service on Wednesday and the groups combined gave a very real and insightful introduction to how they operate, really helpful.

It offered the opportunity to learn how to search for a job that fits my professional profile in the civil service and how to apply for it. In doing so, I was able to edit my CV and create an effective CL.
The mock interview exercise was very effective in helping me identify areas for improvement. The concept of STAR method was well presented, and I was able to use it during my mock interview.
Learning about safe learning was very insightful and a new concept I know feel more familiar with.
The behaviour concept was presented and well explained to the class.

“I have found it to be extremely helpful and interesting and engaging and very pleased to have attended the course. The key things I have learnt from are really about tailoring my applications a lot more closely to the requirements of the role being advertised along with the CV and Cover letter as well and looking at things with more of a fresh approach based on the feedback that has been given in the tasks and through the course modules that I have had to complete.
