Communication was slow, reasonable adjustments were not properly handled, and the lack of responsiveness—especially around important emails—made a stressful time even harder. Administrative support and communication need major improvement.”

“The Civil Service Skills for Work course provided useful information about customer service, job applications, interview preparation and recruitment processes. The tutor was knowledgeable and the course covered a range of relevant topics.
However, I found the workload quite intensive for a two-week course, and some activities would have benefited from clearer instructions, better organisation, and more time to prepare in practice. A more manageable pace and additional opportunities to practise would improve the overall learning experience.
Overall, the course was informative, although I feel there is room for improvement.”

“The experience was pleasant, Jonathan is a patient and adaptable tutor. Having said that, I would not recommend ANY level 1 course for someone who has at least level 3 qualifications. The stuff you will be taught is too foundational, and you are better off studying at a more advanced level.”

“The strive training course was amazing, I met some incredible people and I had such an amazing tutor. I am really grateful for the opportunity I have had. My tutor made it so easy to learn and hearing some other learners experience and thoughts on how civil service practise questions can be answered opened up my eyes to see the bigger picture. I walk out with tons of interview skills, a great new CV, knowledge on cover letters and personal statements and just a general overview of how the civil service operations work.”

“Knowledgeable and well organised tutor but very fast paced course. It could be extended by 2 days to cover the units in more detail and to allow more time for discussion and preparation in particular for the CV and cover letter section; the health and safety section and the practical part of the situational judgement test and the numeracy test. The course needs to be done with more consideration in mind for the people with disabilities who struggle to keep up with the pace of the course, therefore it should be reasonable to extend it by 2 days.”
