The product itself is excellent. I have been running the product in my studio for a couple of years and have been very happy. So why the 'poor' rating? I have recently purchased the current upgrade and have been to date utterly unsuccessful at getting it to install properly. It is not misbehaving from any level of our incompetence here, indicated by having successfully installed and run the former version in the same studio and on the same computer. Unfortunately it has to be said that I am out of pocket and still have no access to the software package that I have already purchased.

Worked fine until TIDAL upgraded...now, it doesn’t work at all and Customercare is unresponsive. Now I feel like I wasted $79. Not cool.

I guess since it only costs $20 to upgrade, I'm not too upset, but I am very disappointed in the systemwide feature. I was hoping it would be a set and forget feature, but it seems that I have to manage it constantly. The absolute worse part was when I was recording a DI guitar part, I got this very loud feedback. Not sure why it happened, but I was very concerned that I had blown my monitor speakers. Fortunately, they were all right, but I am reluctant to use systemwide again. I just went back to inserting the plugin on the 2bus.

2 sets of headphones with 2 separate “corrections” made the headphones sound even further apart sonically than before. Audio didn’t transfer well when back on studio monitors. The predetermined settings for dt770s made them sound even harsher and more hyped. The HD650s were a subtle change that seemed ok until comparison. Flat response should be a flat response and it should make headphones more similar, not increase the sonic void. Haven’t tried speaker calibration yet so this is just a review of the headphone calibration.

Did not work for me. Software crashes, no useable result and support blamed my setup instead of suggesting solutions.

I need lots of tutorials before using it. to use it correctly. I thought I bought a secret weapon and used it for the first time when mixing my final assignment, but the LUFS value is totally out of control when it is not bypassed. finally, I worked and submitted this assignment with no any Reference used.

i noticed no noticeable increase in performance. in fact there was a sharp decrease in output as the sonarworks program dramatically reduced the output volume i was experiencing before. once i deleted the program it sounded much brighter, fuller etc than it had while i was using the program. i think you guys still have some kinks to work out. the customer service however was excellent.

When I tried the trial I was excited to see a wide array of headphone profiles, including my HD800 w/sdr mod. I didn’t use the program for a bit but purchased with the promotion. When I tried the program again, the profile I wanted was gone. Very disappointing, I would not have purchased without my heapdhone’s profile.

I was never able to get it to work. It always said that the speakers were an incorrect distance apart. Customer service tried to help, but after trying their suggestions, and having then not work, I gave up.

The program might work in most conditions, but I got it due to a temporary bad listening environment while upgrading my studio. I have a pair of Focal Twins that normally sounds very good, but in my temporary room I needed some help. The program could not go through the calibration without an error. After several attempts, I decided to go through with the process anyway. The result worse than before I tried the program. This may be caused by the two membranes (one bass and one mid) placed side by side. Anyway the program could not help me and was in this case a waist of money.

The calibration for both speakers & headphones works fine. The major problem is with the licensing system - keeps loosing this, but also the reactivation system request(s) is a PITA. Doesn't always necessarily work and requires messing about, is time consuming. A little empathy would be in order where professional use many, many other pieces of software systems, licensing and activation arrangements. Licensing needs much improvement. As well, the overpricing for 'System wide' is unacceptable on the Windows platform because it cannot use ASIO drivers.

Sonarworks freezes my sound and video, I have used the headphone plugin for over a year and loved it but the new program does not love my setup. PC.i7, 48gig ram Win 10. Studio One 3 Pro

My mixes were not very accurate. They didn't sound the same outside of my k240 headphones. It seems the final mixes were lacking low end in the headphones causing me to exaggerate the low end.

Calibrated headphones work really well. The speaker calibration is not intuative though. I've not been able to get it to work at all yet - to be fair Sonar Works have offered a telecon to help out, but I need to do this on a strict timetable to their schedule and my life doesn't work that way. I believe the speaker calibration software needs a complete rewrite. It should be dead simple and just work with almost no user interaction regarding drivers etc (this is actually very easy to do) If the guys writing the software could think of the users as their grandma they might understand the need for ultra simplicity for an ultra simple job.

I purchased this software (with the sonarworks measurement mic) for a particular project. When I received it the speaker portion of the software wouldn't work because of constant dropouts during the measurements. Mind you all of my computer and software specs meet minimum/recommended requirements. After a couple of days with no luck, I emailed tech support (emailed because there is no phone number). By this time I am behind on my deadline. Tech support took a day or two to respond and instead of immediately helping me solve the issue they kept asking me stupid questions they wanted me to answer before scheduling a phone call. (They were questions that could have All been answered in less than two minutes). Every question and answer took a couple of days in between. It took three extra emails to finally schedule a call. All in all over a week went by. Well I just didn't have time to wait. I had to get to mixing I couldn't keep fiddling around with them. Simce then, my vacation time ended (which is the time frame I hd to get all this working) and I haven't had time to reattack all this. The headphone portion works pretty good. I'm not so much dissapointed in tue product, but customer service is not good. Engineers mixing that need tech support need it that day, not 7 days later. Sonarwarks, understnd the industry you're in nd provide adequate tech support if your software's not going to immediately work outnof the package.
