We asked for a varied quote to include moving some items ourselves for best quotation.
The assessor came and didn’t take outside shoes off ( only assessor out of 5 companies to do so) - a little thing but an indication of how customers are seen.
Received the quote - we had 5 companies come - Simon long was more than double the next most expensive quote- some of the other companies to quote are regarded as the most expensive/ professional in the region.
We called to ask if it was correct - we were told yes and that’s how much it is - it could have been expressed in a more professional and caring manner.
We wouldn’t pay the price they wanted anyway but the fact the assessor just it seems - quoted the highest price they could despite the request for stepped quotes based on volume and the un willingness to look at a requite would make me cautious to expect anything better on moving day.
There are some amazingly good and caring independents in Suffolk- if you do get a quote I strongly recommend you get others to ensure the valuation is currently realistic”
