Not very impressed. Quoted £119 then an email to say it could be £160. Even less impressed with the company that picks the car up. Collection was cancelled FOUR times!

Good afternoon, we are so sorry that there were issues with your collection! Unfortunately due to the nature of transportation, collections may need to be rescheduled due to a number of factors. What was good? The simple mobile portal to request a quote is easy and simple to use. Follow up was quick and immediate quote great. What was poor? Claimed to be a guaranteed quote, it wasn’t which felt disingenuous. Also, I was called by a friendly person but asked loads of questions I’d already answered on mobile web link. The job is then outsourced to another firm who asked all the same questions again!! Clearly there is no collaboration in the process. Collection never happened on the day it was supposed to and all my specific instructions on when not to come (because of school in my street) were never passed on!

Bit of a con really, first email said £607 the maximum I got offered in the end was £500 feel cheated

I dont know if you had quotes from multiple companies and the other figure may have been with them? There is never any obligation either to go with us when we provide you with a quotation. Bit of a nightmare to be honest. Quoted £349 then on them finding out it had been sitting a while reduced it to £0! Complained and it went back up to £200. I know just the Cat is worth £700 but the car is 300 miles from me at a relatives. Anyway I took the £200 for the sake of speed. 19 calls it then took to get it collected/get a single truck instead of a 6 car transporter that wouldn't get down the drive. Had to re-explain about the car not starting etc every phone call. Can't recommend sorry.

Once learning that the vehicle was a non-runner we negotiated the best available price for you. It is noted that the collection agent couldn't get hold of you due to signal/no answer, so we apologise that you received so many calls. Very confusing about who I was actually selling my car to, and what info I needed to give to DVLA. Got there myself in the end, but could have been a lot easier between broker, transporter and ultimate purchaser. Last minute cancellation of first booking very poor. Lack of giving AM/PM time slot also very poor. Will not use again.

Upon investigation, I can see the cancellation was made by the collecting agent due to access issues, they were unable to gain access to the vehicle on their first attempt so had to rearrange. We have checked with the company involved and understand that you had gone out and taken the key for the vehicle, so were unable to collect on the first date and had to re-arrange for a second collection date. Our prices are guaranteed based on the condition of the vehicle that you describe to us over the phone, if upon collection this is different, then a new price is offered to you. It all fell apart after 1 missed call. I missed the one call to arrange pickup of my car. Which I called back and then arranged pick up. I then received an email from scrap car comparison telling them to call them to arrange pick up or to let them know if I wanted to cancel. I called this number and got through to some agent who asked me what car it was and where and what was wrong with it. and then proceeded to quote me a different (£80 more) than what had already been agreed on. The agent didn't seem to really know what I was to do next as I just wanted to make sure it was still going ahead. So I then found a number for scrap my car head office spoke to a lady who wasn't very helpful but said they would call me back but they never did. I then received a call from the actual scrap company who was collecting my car that day to let me know the exact time they would be at my address. The actual collection was fine apart from the collector who I was giving the car to didn't fill out the V5C which i didn't feel right about and the money wasn't going to be transferred at the same time. So at that point i had handed my car over without receiving money or the V5C filled out. I spoke to scrap my car during the transaction who told me there was an email with their details on it and i can fill it out with that info and that the payment would be made at 6pm later that day. Both of which was correct i did receive the money and they had sent me the info of the trader. It just didn't feel safe and almost felt like a scam although it wasn't. I have then since received emails saying the collection has been cancelled and I'm currently emailing back and forth to clear it all up. The whole thing was very confusing. everyone I spoke to was not on the same page and giving me different info every time I spoke to or received contact from them.

Hi Sean, Sorry to hear you had problems with our service. It does sound like there was some confusion that we will be happy to look into and address for future customers. The information on our system only shows that we quoted you one price for the vehicle. It is generally the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle to complete the correct section of the V5C document, as it should be the owner telling the DVLA that they are transferring ownership of the vehicle. We are aware that other companies charge for same day bank transfer however your payment was made the same day as collection, free of charge, around 6pm that day. As you mention, all of this information regarding the V5C document and payment is provided to you by email as soon as you book your vehicle in through us. Thank you for using our service. The process took a lot longer than expected. Also they asked my husband if he would like to pay £5 and they would do all the paperwork. I don't know what this entailed because I had to send in the V5 form and I still got charged £17.50 tax on 1/7/19 when I had already sold the car to you the week before. So no I was not very happy with your service.

I sold my car as scrap only to find out later that the car was back on the road. If I had known this would happen, I would have expected a higher sale price. I feel I have been ripped off.

Hi Gordon, Sorry to hear that you feel this way. In some cases, depending on condition, vehicles may be salvaged and repaired by collection agents and there is a chance they could become roadworthy once again. You would have been informed at the time of booking that your vehicle was being purchased by a salvage company, therefore not necessarily being crushed and destroyed by an Authorised Treatment Facility. Will not use again. Further calls to get the arrangements to pick car up via 3rd party. Communication not great. Had to call back to receive outstanding balance. I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't checked. Offer for car below what I had expected but accepted as I thought easy way to scrap car. In practice not as smooth as I had hoped. I will find a different route next time around.

Not happy with collection timings plus how the price went down on collection which I wasn't told before hand as I did mention my van don't start. Wasn't happy with service but had to scrap my van had no option left on the spot.

But we understand that, at the point of collection, it did not in start. Our collection agents are entitled to offer you a renegotiated price in this instance, which is why your price was reduced. I am Not happy at all I sent off all the right documents for the scar to be scraped but it has been sold onto someone who has been driving through congestion zones and I have been receiving charges for it ! Now I am having to spend my own time trying to resolve this issue.

Seems dodge as they call from a different location and request bank details, so I was worried it was a scam however it did work out after I had to verify it was the company. Although the handler was quite rude and laughed when i said I wanted to verify who they were. Would probably not use again and find another scrap company

Recovery driver didn't arrive for collection until nearly 6pm, company that I had to phone to confirm driver had arrived was only available via voicemail, so recovery driver had to leave a voicemail to confirm I had supplied V5 etc - which wasn't picked-up, thus meaning that I didn't receive the balance for a month - and that was only after I had chased it.

No phone call as agreed an hour before the collection meant that I had to contact to see if collection was going ahead. Five minutes after being told that someone would find out the driver phoned saying he was at my house! He showed me his paperwork which made no mention of pre-advise customer so not his fault. Job was subbed so note probably not passed to 911. Driver was helpful though and waited for me to arrive!

Took three days and two trucks to collect car. First truck was " too big" and didn't collect. Second truck was bigger and did collect. No phone calls as promised. Lost time from work for this. Not impressed

Did not receive any money for the car.Ok, I had no documents to hand immediately- it was my daughters car- but that should not have resulted in a nil price.
