“Received skylight on date promised and I'd prepared roof to receive. Unfortunately half fixings were missing. I immediately phoned to inform Rooflights & Skylights, the response was unapologetic and lacked urgency. 6 days later and I still haven't received the fixings but still have a hole in my flat roof.”

We are very sorry that some of the fixings were missing from your delivery and that our response came across as unapologetic. We fully appreciate how urgent this was, particularly as you had already prepared the roof and were left with an exposed opening. The rooflight was dispatched directly by the manufacturer, and unfortunately we do not hold spare fixing kits ourselves. We contacted the manufacturer by both telephone and email and continued chasing them to send the missing parts as quickly as possible. However, their response was much slower than either we or you would have expected. Missing components are extremely unusual, but we accept that six days was far too long in these circumstances. We sincerely apologise for the frustration and disruption caused.

“IDDC Ltd Trading as Rooflights & Skylights knowingly delivered a 1.2m x 1.2 roof light and kerb in which the kerb had a 80mm long split which they claim is hairline and because we did not open the box for 6 weeks they refused to replace the roof light stating that we could silicone the "hairline".”

We’re sorry you feel let down. The rooflight was kept for over six weeks before the issue was raised and we have no way of knowing how it had been stored or moved in that time. The manufacturer reviewed your photos and confirmed it was only a minor surface split that would not affect performance or warranty, and advised a simple fix on site. Had you contacted us within our notification period we could have raised this and arranged a replacement.
