“Had a great afternoon with Jirapan and a lovely group of people keen to learn more about Thai food. She's very knowledgeable, super-friendly and took time to explain ingredients and their uses, where to get them and how to prepare them. I took away new skills I know I'll enjoy using over and over.”

“Jirapan created a very relaxed and friendly environment. We tasted throughout the cooking process which allowed us to see how different ingredients enhanced the recipe. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would like to do another course in the future. I would definitely recommend Paya Thai”

“A really good afternoon learning new skills. Instruction was excellent and all questions were answered in detail with recommendations of where to buy Asian produce, alternatives and expected prices. There were six of us on the day and it was fun listening to other people's views and experiences and sitting down at the end of the class with a bottle of wine and enjoying the final product. Only down side was that there is only one hob to work on so it was very much a joint effort. However, the recipes and instructions taken away were a good prompt for cooking at home alone. Good value and very friendly - a very enjoyable afternoon.”

“I bought vouchers for the course for my girlfriends birthday as we both really loved Thai food but had been unable to recreate really good Thai food at home. The day was brilliant and Jirapan was fantastic, making everyone feel at ease within minutes. Both me and my girlfriend are excited to try out what we have learned on our friends and family as the food we produced on the day was awesome. Thank you Jirapan.”

“I had a very enjoyable day cooking some of my all time favourite dishes. Everything we needed was supplied, including a glass of wine to go with our meal at the end. Jirapan is an excellent teacher and explained the various steps clearly to us all, and the food came out perfectly. I have already invited the family over to taste my efforts at recreating the dishes, so here goes!”

“Absolutely fantastic day! The whole experience was just perfect and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Juripan was a brilliant teacher, who explained every dish methodically which helped us to remember each element. She is extremely lovely and her food is absolute wonderful. “What a great way to learn a new cuisine and spend time with friends! Jirapan is incredibly knowledgable and throughout the afternoon, I learned so much about the ingredients that made up the dishes and now understand how to layer the different flavours to make the dish my own. I had so much fun and have already practised making Penang curry at home- my dinner guests were very impressed! I highly recommend!”

“I took a cookery class with Jirapan last year which I thoroughly enjoyed. She is a talented and patient teacher who showed the group of us who attended different ways to prepare the vegetables and other ingredients we used and showed us step by step what to do. You also get to eat your cooked dishes along with a glass of wine and have a set of the recipes to take home with you. I already used to cook Thai food before I went along to the class and this helped me to appreciate the ingredients and different ways I could use them to create wonderful dishes. I currently have another voucher which i hope to be able to use soon and look forward to attending another class with Jirapan.”

“We wanted something a little less traditional for our Tipi wedding and as we both love Thai food we thought it was the perfect idea. With it being a little more of an unusual choice, we were so pleased when we found Paya Thai Cooking. From first contact, Alex and Jirapan were so helpful and as soon as we started our tasting session with Jirapan we knew we had to book her! The food on our wedding day was faultless and delicious. We had so many comments from our guests that it was so nice to have something not so formal and traditional with many guests saying it was the best wedding food they've ever had! On the day, Jirapan and her team did such an amazing job and we both really appreciated one of the team tracking us down during our "photoshoot" with a plate of canapés - we would of been gutted to miss out on these! Jirapan really did go above and beyond on the day as well, helping out with lots of little things that strictly speaking weren't her job. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paya Thai Cooking to anyone and we're so pleased we decided to break from tradition. The carved watermelon went down brilliantly as well - it was a work of art and it featured in quite a few of our photos! Thanks again guys. If we could do it all again, we would! “The Paya Thai Cooking experience greatly surpassed my expectations! Jirapan hosts the classes in her own, very modern, kitchen and keeps the classes small and intimate. She teaches you about ingredients - how to source them, their qualities, how to work with them and how to substitute them. She also teaches you how evaluate your dish on taste and feel, so that you do not only rely on a recipe. It was thoroughly enjoyable and the food tasted great!”
