“Oxford Royale Academy is a great place to study in the summer. I took the Broadening Horizons program and studied at Queen's College -- the college is beautiful. You get the chance to take courses and participate in activities. This includes subjects such as Experimental Psycology and Contemporary History, and activities such as Ice Skating and Bouldering. There are many diverse peers for you to build friendships with and campus team members to guide you on your way and coordinate your activities and excursions. I will list 5 pros and 5 cons, but let me tell you that overall, the pros outweigh the cons. PROS 1. Good food (they accommodate quite well to alternative diets such as vegan or gluten-free) 2. Nice accommodations 3. Ideal location (a mall, several libraries, several museums, and quality cafes/restaurants were just a short walk away) 4. Free time and activities (lots of time was given for exploring, completing assignments, and participating in optional activities) 5. Many students/good social life (at almost any time, you could head over to the junior common room to talk to a friend, compete in a game of foozball, or play a game of chess) CONS 1. Assignments (For my courses, I had 4 total assignments to complete. Although this may seem light for two weeks, it does take quite a bit of time away from socializing) 2. Food (as previously mentioned, the food tasted good, but lunch and any snacks you might want throughout the day has to be purchased independently) 3. The price (the cost for this program is quite high, considering it to be only two weeks, which makes it hard for some to attend. Thankfully, a few scholarships are given to deserving students) 4. The Wifi (almost every time you want to use the wifi, you have to sign in again, which is tiresome to some students) 5. The water (the water available to student is tap water, which is fine to drink, but if you only drink purifies water, you are going to have to get that yourself) • Hopefully my advice helps you in your decision making process. I highly enjoyed attending ORA, and I'm sure that you would too.”

“There is no other way I would have rather spent the summer than at ORA. Not only was my time here incredibly rewarding academically, but the friendships I've built for the past four weeks are bound to last a lifetime. I would highly recommend ORA for everyone and can only hope to come back very soon.”

“The experience was great. I had a lot of fun and I spent a great moment with my friends. We did a lot of sorts of activities and the key was we enjoyed our self. But when it comes at the end it becomes sad and heart breaking.”

“It’s my second time with ORA programs, both times were in Cambridge, Clare College. It was amazing. I made so many new friends with the ones I still keep in touch and also learnt a lot. I developed new skills in the subjects I had chosen, but also had an amazing free time in campus and in town. I wouldn’t mind taking another course next year. Thank you for everything. “The Summer was great. I had a warm welcome By the ORA Team. Through out the stay the councelors were very nice. I have to admit, I was a little bit disapointed by the st. Edmunds college at first, because it wasn‘t what I expected. Also I have to Tell you that my first physiks teacher was awful and a waste of Time. The second physiks teacher, John, was perfect and I wish I had had him from the beginning. What I struggled with this session, was the lack of time for lunch and the workload. Also would I have wished for more physikal activity’s in the afternoon. Other the stay was pretty amazing and I really enjoyed the last week. The only problem with ORA as a summerschool, is, that it only lasts for two weeks;) thank you very much for making this possible and I hope to see you next year again. Andrea Schmid”

“The Oxford Royale Academy summer school was by far the best and most rewarding experience i have ever had in my life! I got the opportunity of building bridges with people from all over the world in the city of dreaming spires and i feel like i have become a stronger and more confident person thanks to this programme! The teachers are fantastic and absolute experts in their fields and in the period of two weeks, we have covered a lot of material and we have acquired a lot of valuable and useful skills that will help us later on in life, especially in university. I recommend this program to anyone that wishes to make international friends and explore an ancient and spectacular city, like Oxford!”

“I loved the experience I had at the ORA Summer School. It was an amazing opportunity to meet students from all over the world, and I made so many friendships which I will never forget. It was incredible seeing how all the connections between people formed within a couple of days, and by the end, everyone was dreading leaving because we didn't want to leave our friends. The learning experience was very beneficial, and it personally helped me realise subjects that I am/am not interested in. I loved and enjoyed the trip, and am so appreciative of being given this opportunity.”

“Truly an excellent experience, foundation courses for university are taught by university students which are very enjoyable and at a high quality for education compared to other summer schools I'd say. Facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, and in general university campus's are of high quality and very much enjoyable and comfortable to live in. ORA staff members are extremely helpful, handy and very friendly making the experience 10x better. ORA students were also very friendly and you have the opportunity to make extremely good friendships too!”

“I loved my time at ORA, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I made really close friends in such a short period of time. I enjoyed the lessons and the activities with the other students and counselors. At the beginning two weeks seemed long, by the end it wasn’t long enough.”

“Coming here was the best choice of my life. It was a life changing experience, and I mean it honestly. The teacher was amazing, the students were amazing, and the staff as well. I am a person who never cries, and before I left I had tears dropping out of my eyes. Such a unique 2 week experience. I will for ever treasure my time here.”
