I had a extension/ summer house built and completed earlier this year. I cannot complain about the builders but am dissatisfied by the non service received since the built was finished. I have have contacted the office regularly and spoke to at least 3 people who have all insured me that things that have not been completed will be sorted asap. I have waited over 7 months now for full completion so I can get a building warrant. I am now having to involve Trading Standards

Hi Lynda, We are very disappointed to received this 1st star review due to building warrant delaying your completion certificate. We aren’t in control of the council and as you have said we have built yourself a stunning home extension. We would like to add to this review that you also are fully aware ALL drawings, designs & time dealing with the local council you haven’t been charged for. Any local architect would have charged you around £2,000 for their time. We will continue to chase the council, but giving a one star review is very poor. Sorry but just being honest. Always 2 sides to every story

We purchased a full outdoor building which is 10/10 and then asked for our whole garden to be fully landscaped... this is where everything went downhill. The job was a total mess from start to finish with an utter cowboy on the job. 2 years later my garden is an utter state. The slabs are all uneven. The decking is lifting. The artificial grass is all lumpy I cant afford to pay anyone to fix this mess and im left with an awful awful garden. Every single day i go outside it makes me so upset. The garden alone cost 14k and its honestly such a mess.

Customer service is shockingly bad!!! I've spent a lot of money with Outdoor Building Group. I had one small problem that should have been easily fixed, over a year later with many phone calls and emails later the problem is still not resolved. N.B. Please keep ALL paperwork and on handover day if something is not quite right, take lots of photos and get them to write down what they are going to do about it. Check all appliances are in full working order before they leave and if not, get them to replace the whole item, NOT say they will get a spare part. 13 months later I'm still waiting for a spare part!

Hi Susan & readers of this review We built Susan's garden room & as with all jobs we have a handover process which includes walking around the job which was completed on 26/6 with no note of cracked heater. On 4/7 client contacted our office to ask about blinds for her garden room again no note about a crack leg heater. On 6/7 Susan then emailed about a cracked leg on her heater. We contacted the 3rd party heater manufacturer to request a new leg to which they rejected due to the unknown circumstance of who damaged the leg. After 1 year the client called again but we don’t use this supplier anymore as they have stopped selling electric heaters. This was expressed to the customer and the customer was aware that we were in contact with the manufacturer and the advisories that they would not replace. —- To be honest we understand the need but to be given a 1 star review for a large complex build that takes 3/4 weeks with multi trades over a cracked leg is unfair.

Contacted this company twice regards a new garage. Each time they've said they'll contact me regard a site visit. Still waiting..... In my opinion they are definitely not interested in selling garages.

Hello as your post is annoymous we can’t track the enquiring info. We are currently taking new garage orders just now for Aug/Sept installations

Had lots of correspondence initially about a large garage replacement and even visited their sales centre in Bargeddie. When we tried to arrange a site survey visit all communication from OBG ceased. They seem not to be interested in garages anymore despite this being part of portfolio. In fairness OBG have good prices so we have started negotiations three times and have now been “ghosted” three times. No replies to our emails or phone calls. Disappointed that our project is so far behind because of time wasted with OBG.

Couldn't fault initial sales meeting in Sep 21, but issues ever since. Groundwork started in Dec 21, got keys in Apr 22. It took until end Jun (& many calls/emails/photos) to get some repair work done - these issues were known to OBG, as highlighted at time of final inspection. I say some, as they ran out of replacement boards (20+) to be able to complete in one visit! It's now middle of Aug 22 and no further work has been undertaken. My cynical side says that the repair work was done to prevent us cancelling the landscaping. On that note, don't ask them to lay new turf. We haven't even progressed to reporting teething issues. These buildings aren't cheap. To say I have been disappointed is an understatement. it pains me to say it, but I'm reaching the point where I feel I need to get in touch with the lawyers very soon.

Please be very cautious before giving this company the £2500 deposit required to proceed with works, this is the speediest thing they will make sure they do. Everything else they do from then on will be at a snail pace. This was in the case of a garden room which would be attached to our home, others may be different. The reason we went with them was because we were promised the earth and how simple and straightforward we were told it would be! I think this job was too hard for them as they needed to apply for a material variation to our planning and building warrant but instead of admitting this was beyond what they could do, they made promises about it being done within a few months etc which they did not follow through. They were clever in the respect of making these promises verbally even after me emailing my concerns they would reply by phone. It has been 10 months since I paid the £2500 and I was no nearer to having the garden room fitted which they have blamed the council for and the council have blamed them. They never return calls and when I emailed them to say I no longer had confidence in them and didn't want to proceed it took them over 2 weeks to respond. They showed no interest in trying to keep my custom nor refund any of the deposit I had paid. I think this is how they make their money to be honest and anything complicated they will put on the back burner hoping the customer will get fed up and cancel which I have had to do.

In December 2021 I made the final payment for a large Garden Room, we are now in June 2022 and despite repeated phone calls and emails, the building is yet to be finished.... Until two weeks ago, I was unable to open and close the bifold doors, they have now been reinstated but as you can see from the attached photos, the job is yet to be completed. A number of the Trades Persons were very good, however sadly, that is more than I can say for the Directors and Senior Management.

Afternoon Folks We have spoken with this client around 5 weeks ago and requested either cctv or a before and after photo to confirm damage to the garage door. Our garage roof team have worked for us for several years they have claimed to not have gone near or touched the garage door. This job was a roof replacement which he was happy with when we spoke with him on the phone 2 weeks ago our bank told us this person had tried to claim the money back for the roof job ?? mmmm Always two sides to each story we are still waiting on any proof :(

Customer service and fault fixing needs a severe overhaul! Within weeks of instillation there was severe water ingress around the walls onto the garage floor. I contacted the company director on a number of occasions and submitted photographic evidence. It was agreed that the problem should be fixed but COVID intervened. Understandably little could be done during lockdown. Since then no call, email or contact request has been returned. I still have water ingress into a new garage and am now heading into a third winter of damp storage. I have a garage that is NOT fit for purpose.

Sent 4 emails and after replying to the first one saying 'Sure, that's what we do.' they never again bothered to respond. Not good.

Despite paying a deposit in December, the job being measured up twice, emailing every few weeks to chase… still no sign of the work being done. Staff very friendly which is great. Whilst I am appreciating of the global situation, it’s a bit of a stretch more than six months on.

My neighbour and myself paid a deposit on January 25th for a survey to be carried out thereafter for removal of an asbestos roof on our attached garages and replacement roof and additional agreed works. On paying our deposits in January we were informed the Survey would be done in February and works would be done in March. On phoning on the first occasion to check up on when the survey was to be done we were informed “Mark was getting through the surveys well” and OBG would be in touch. Since then we have phoned on numerous occasions only to be told that Mark or Charlene would be in touch. To date not even a confirmation time for survey let alone work to be carried out. We have explained that the garage roofs are leaking badly but still no further forward. I am afraid the excuse of Covid restrictions in my opinion cannot be used as this Company appear to be taking on more work than they can handle thus leaving the Customer who has paid money in advance still waiting. Totally unacceptable. OBG appear to be one of the few companies who request money upfront. Perhaps a warning to others?

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the poor customer service. I placed an order in October, paid the deposit and was told someone would be in touch to survey the work within 5 weeks. I fully understood at the time the impact of Covid19 so was patient, but it's ow nearly 3months and I've had no correspondence or contact from anyone to let me know when this survey is to be carried out, let alone when the work will finally start? I've had to chase either by email or phone and keep getting told someone will be in touch but still nothing. I'm now feeling very disheartened and beginning to believe the work I ordered will never be done and my deposit ultimately lost. Really poor customer service?

Your driver in van with registration N5 OBG drove like he was blindfolded. His special awareness caused hazards to other road users. If I were a police officer I would have breathalised him. Stuck driving behind him on the a71 from Lanark to Garrion Bridge around 5.30 on 02/10/19.
