About North Bikes:

We are a small, independent company, based in the North of England, specializing in bicycles for all the family, with an emphasis on kids’ bikes.

Bikes have been a passion of ours since the late 1970s when it all began from a small shop in Idle, Bradford, West Yorkshire.

We believe in the bicycle - it’s a health tool, a transport solution, and a sport. A bike can unite friends and family for enjoyable days out, or extract your full potential in racing.

Over the course of 200 years, bicycles have undergone many changes and have transformed the way we travel, exercise and enjoy ourselves.

Against the backdrop that our society is continually facing concerning health and transportation challenges, we see bikes as part of the solution to the nation’s problems.

“Would be good to have a short video on how to assemble components of the bike. The written instructions and parts that came with the package are not geared to help first time buyers. Appreciate the fast delivery of the bike.”

“Bike was delivered quickly in good condition the price was very good. The only thing was the gears needed considerable adjustment when assembled to operate correctly.”

The gears should be correctly set up at the factory, but I suppose settings could get knocked out of adjustment during transit? “My Kinder mx 26 arrived very quickly and I'm very pleased with it. It's light and easy to cycle for my daughter. The gears weren't quite set up fully as they needed adjustment so I had to go on google for that once I'd adjusted the brakes. They still skip a little but my daughter is new to gears so that may be down to her. One problem is that the gear levers foul the brakes/handle on the right hand side so that you can't angle the brake lever down properlyso I would recommend different gears - the ones that are built into the handle bars. many thanks Becky”

I will give you a call to see if there's anything that can be done to remedy the problem with the angle of the gear shifter and brake lever. They are both independently angle-adjustable, so it should be easy enough to set them up to be comfortable for the rider. Kind regards, North Bikes

“Bike is of good quality however it needed significant assembly including knowing how to temporarily disengage the brakes which isn’t ideal when I’m not a bike expert and I brought it for my four year old son.”

“Thank you North Bikes for the lovely Bike for my granddaughter, she is over the moon with it, ordered it late Thursday afternoon said next day delivery but I didn’t expect it on Friday as it was a late order, but did expect it Saturday for the little girls birthday on Sunday, phoned the delivery no answer, and it arrived on the Monday that was disappointing, but the bike is lovely thinking how expensive they are in the shops compared to what I paid.”

I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with the speed of the delivery service. We dispatched your order as quickly as possible on APC's 'Next Working Day' delivery service. Unfortunately, APC only deliver Mondays to Fridays for large cartons such as the type your bike came in. I hope your granddaughter gets lots of enjoyment from her new bike. Kind regards, North Bikes

“Great price and quick delivery. Unfortunately one fork was slightly bent but no damage the boxing, so assume this happened in the Raleigh factory and not the fault of North Bikes”

“The bike is really good quality and rides really smoothly, it was packed nice and the instructions on how to assemble it were clear and easy to follow however the bell broke within the second day and the seat is really uncomfortable”

Hi Achilleas, I'm pleased you like the bike and admire its quality. The Raleigh Pops are a retro-inspired bike range and have saddles that fit this look, but I agree, the saddles could be comfier. I guess it's just part and parcel of the overall design. I'm disappointed to hear the bell broke so quickly. If you get in touch with us I can send you a replacement bell free of charge. “I ordered a Squish 26 from North Bikes via the internet after being unable to find any in stock locally. The bike arrived promptly, well packaged with assembly instructions and a good owners booklet. There was a problem with the front brake which was a manufacturing fault. North Bikes dealt with the matter quickly, getting a replacement part from the supplier which they forwarded on to me. Problem solved.”

“We bought a Raleigh Pop 20 inch boys bike. The price was competitive and it came with a couple of extras, a pump and a ETC bicycle computer. Unfortunately the unit did not fit the bike as the gap between the sensor fastened to the front forks and the magnet fitted on a spoke was well outside the tolerance of 1 - 3 mm. The gap being around 12 mm. Although it was a nice gesture it was very disappointing for our Grandson when it wouldn't fit. Having said that the bike and delivery was spot on and that is what we were buying and the only failure was in the freebies. Since sending in my review North Bikes have been in contact to try and resolve the problem. I was very impressed with their speed of response and together we have overcome the problem. 10/10 for after sales service.”

“Overall the service from North Bikes was good. The website was easy to use and place an order on and the delivery was fast and free. Unfortunately our bike arrived damaged but once I raised this with North Bikes I was offered a replacement and the delivery of the new bike plus the collection of the original was arranged by them without too much back and forth. It would be better if they offered a bike build service (for a fee, of course) but that aside I would be happy to use them again.”
