The application process for a zero hour or part time job is the same as that for careers such as teaching or even head teacher jobs. I believe that this is totally unnecessary and puts people off from applying. For instance pensioners being told that they must provide certificates of examinations taken in the 1970s. Simplify the process for low level jobs, whilst ensuring safeguarding standards are maintained.

Filling in the application was straightforward and easto follow. The difficulty was afterwards, recieving numerous emails asking for information. lots of forms arriving.

I had an issue with the copy paste function at profile section. Later realised I had to delete first then add. I have not heard back from my application yet or received any updates

I was expecting to receive some feedback for my application.

I love the ease of applying for jobs through MyNewTerm however I do question how much schools actually use them as two of my applications through here haven't been looked at by the school until wayyy after the closing date (one of them still hasn't been looked at now!)

I would have preferred if the school could have given me feedback on why I wasn't selected. Its a rather faceless platform albeit convenient for saving détails.

"My experience with MyNewTerm has been excellent so far. The interface is user-friendly and the tools are easy to navigate. I particularly like the seamless integration of all the features, which makes managing terms straightforward. Overall, it's a great tool that saves time and effort in keeping track of important terms."

It’s fine (as are a million and one other job sites out there!), but the fact that any school would use this to screen internal candidates is beyond me. As an internal, you’ve already been through the process to get the job at the school, there needs to be a separate way for internal applicants.

Completing the form took a long while for me as so much information was needed as I have had quite a few different jobs. I did eventually complete it but it was very lengthy.

I used it for a couple of applications. It was good to have my information saved. It was awkward that I had to log in to access messages. I had to do a couple of things twice as I had misread how to do things. Through working on a small screen, I was unclear about my options when I was sent an interview date that I could not make. It was annoying that some things had to be done through the website and not by directly messaging schools. Having used both, I preferred the quick apply/ mycv thing on tes.com

Exasperating. Platform is a good concept but, as someone with significant experience in teaching and a continuous learner, it takes a huge amount of time to upload all the required details- especially where your own updates mean that every section needs new attention, so it doesn't save the applicant much time having to edit instead of re-enter data. Even though I have successfully applied for a role on here before, details such as failing to communicate the maximum character length for the personal statement are lazy and cause a very significant amount of work scaling back information in the one section which feels designed for applicants instead of employers, and usually under the pressure of a limited timeframe- which creates a lot of stress. With my latest experience, it was clear that the role being advertised wasn't a legitimate opening and I don't think you should allow employers to advertise where there is no chance of external candidates even being shortlisted as a result of using your platform- maybe specify a minimum advert window of a fortnight? It genuinely took about three working days of my holiday time to complete the online application, only to receive an offensively oblique and impersonal rejection hours before the advertised interview day: this is not on with the demands of a teacher's workload. Would be very hesitant to apply for a role on this platform again- you allow employers to be lazy and automate rejections which disrespect the applicants as real people.

Website for browsing jobs is very clunky and slow, partly when you try to search by post code. Application process is easy to use and runs smoothly.

The site itself is easy to navigate and it is good only having to input certain elements once. I was not very impressed with the lack of notification for one of my applications (St. Michael’s). I had to log in to see if there were any messages and discovered that my application had been marked unsuccessful. No notification or message from either the school or MyNewTerm. With the other application, I received a notification and an email message from the school.

Overall very good and the fact you can save and be notified when job ads are expiring. The downside is you have to keep filling in the personal statement which makes it tedious to keep copy and paste or changing it each time. Re St John Rigby, very disappointingly they haven’t got back to me.

I only apply for jobs where I have experience and it was clear on my cv that I had experience otherwise why would I waste my time in filling out an application.
