“I found the application process very confusing and very long winded. I also found it very impersonal. I appreciate there certain parameters and algorithms that filter out the wrong & right applications. I know it saves the employer the time of going through all CVS that are submitted but they could be missing out on the best person for the job.”

“It is incredibly frustrating to have to complete these applications on different platforms such as TES, MNT, ETeach etc..in addition to the many schools who believe that their unique application form is somehow superior to every other form. I suppose that if MNT emerges as a market leader then it will streamline the process.”

“I just wanted to mention that St John's phoned me on Monday about a mixup in my applications that sent them an application to another schoolwhich may mean that I will not be considered for an interview.”

Thank you for leaving a review Margaret. We have tried to contact you by phone to speak to you but we have not been able to reach you. It appears you have submitted the same personal statement as a previous vacancy you have applied for (thereby with the incorrect school name / job title) for the vacancy at St John's School. We therefore feel it is a bit harsh that you have rated only 3* for something which is out of our control. We have designed the process to apply directly to schools as easy as possible but naturally, it is up to you, as the candidate, to ensure you are happy and have reviewed the information you add to your application(s). Thank you for leaving us a review. In order to comply with Safer Recruitment guidelines schools are required to collect specific information via an application process. Unlike many sectors, they are not able to accept CVs. As a result, there can be a bit of time involved in completing your online profile but when you have done this ONCE, it is saved for any future applications at MyNewTerm. “The web does not always work and has to be loaded again and again. The search not always works and it keeps freezing. When putting filters it would not hold them.”

“Nicely laid out and presented. Autosave only works on personal statement section which is annoying when you lose data input in section 1 because you've not manually pressed save. Copy and paste from one personal statement to another loses all formatting. Generally it's a 7/10 but could easily become a 10/10 with additional sw developer tweaks”

“Thank you MyNewTerm team for securing me an interview. I felt the interview was just a formality. From the start to finish I knew I would not get through. Though I had some questions to ask the interviewer , I did not ask as I felt there was no point. Before the interview, my 7 year old said to me " Mummy it is not difficult job, even I will be able to do it".”

Hi Carol, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased to hear you found the process mostly very good. All of the standard information (employment history, qualifications, etc) is saved on your profile. When you apply for a role, you are required to complete a personal statement. The reason you have to do this each time is because the school requires you to refer to the person specification and detail how you meet the specific requirements of the role and why you want to work at their organisation. No two personal statements should ever been the same - it should be personal to the school and the role you are applying for. “I have applied for 3 positions on this website. I thought the layout of it was simple and easy to use. The application process is quite smooth. The only thing I would say negatively is that although there are closing dates on each job advertisement; I find it very hard that there is no feedback. I have heard from only one employer. i think it would be better of you could ensure that potential had to submit a rejection or move to talent pool etc in case of not being successful for an interview. This would save a lot of wondering and hoping that the candidate secured an interview”

“A good website. Once all my details have been input I don't have to enter them again. This saves tons of time when applying for jobs. Only downside was I missed a vacancy deadline in August due to the site being down for several days.”
