“I've used Halfords for about 4 years for MOT & annual serving. I never felt ripped off, they completely had my trust, & I therefore became a loyal customer & openly recommended them. A few months ago I needed a new fly wheel/clutch thingy (the mechanics of cars are clearly NOT my thing).
This was diagnosed at Halfords, who provided me with a quote. I was about the give the go-ahead but decided to make a call to at least one other company for a comparison quote because it was going to cost me something in the region of £1500 (I can't fully remember but it wasn't far off that figure). That's when I called Mr Clutch. The price difference was huge! So much so that that I thought it was too good to be true. I carried out the necessary checks re work guarantees etc, & came to the conclusion that I'd be daft not to get the works done at Mr Clutch. I even asked Halfords if they could price match - they couldn't come anywhere near. I think the price difference was at least £500.
Mr Clutch carried out the works, & nearly 3000 miles later, so far so good. The guy who dealt with my initial enquiry & made the booking was brilliant, & when I put the car in, who I dealt with then was also great. Never underestimate good customer service!
I recently returned to have my annual service & MOT carried out. The reason I went to Mr Clutch was, to be honest, because they were cheaper than Halfords (about £40 I think). Again, the guy I dealt with was great.
I have to go a bit out of my way to go to Mr Clutch but so far it has been worth it. Halfords may have permanently lost my custom ....& I recommended 6 friends/family to that particular Halfords so their custom may also be lost as I've already started singing the praises of Mr Clutch :-)”

“Excellent customer service. Had to make a last minute online MOT booking (late Sunday evening) as we have been caught out by the date of our renewal! Checked out a couple of online MOT booking centres and Mr Clutch was the best and easiest site to use, with the added bonus of the £25 MOT quote it was by far the most competitive... The MOT was due to expire the following day (Monday) but I got an appointment no problem. I was working so the wife had to take it into the garage...
Soooo I was lumbered with taking the car for the MOT as hubby was working, this I was not looking forward to and if your a woman you will know what I mean by this... but you know what the guys at the Norwich branch were great, they were really friendly and put me at ease, I was worried about getting ripped off for repairs, the car had only done 6k from the last (which was its first) MOT so I figured nothing much would have changed ie brake pads and tyres all the usual suspects that you can be stung for... but apart from a couple of advisories they picked up ref tyres wearing unevenly the car sailed through and my faith was restored! I would definitely recommend this garage and will use again... Maybe next time repairs will be required but at least I know I can trust its true!
