“I booked a free winter check and was asked to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled slot.
It was 40 minutes before anyone looked at my car, I wasn't kept informed. The waiting room was absolutely freezing, despite having two heaters that I'm sure could have been turned on.
one hour and ten minutes after arriving I was told that everything was OK, apart from a main beam bulb and the battery was a bit low. I asked them to change the bulb before I took the car, thinking it would (and should) be a two minute job. Twenty minutes later I asked if someone was fitting the bulb and was told that the bulb had been ordered as they didn't have one in stock. Had they of let me know that I would have left it and taken the car. Another 15 minutes went by and the bulb arrived. During this time, my car's headlights were left on with the engine not running, great news for someone that's got a low battery. They also could have taken this opportunity to put the battery on charge, but didn't. Two hours and ten minutes after I got there I had the car and was driving away. That night I went home and charged the battery, I discovered that the plastic guard on the positive battery terminal had been ripped off and not replaced, it's not possible to get this as a spare part, so now both battery terminals are exposed.
All in all a very bad and frustrating experience, which I would not wish on anyone. I'll now be contacting Mr Clutch directly to complain, and will not be returning. Zero customer service and the bare minimum of service levels generally. There was so many opportunities to 'add value' and improve my experience, but all of them were missed.”
“The Mangers attitude quickly turned sour after discussing possibly taking my vehicle elsewhere following an MOT fail, for this reason I made the decision to take my vehicle have the relevant work completed at a garage with much better customer service.”
“I needed to service my car urgently. I called up and the helpful staff at Hayes booked me in the same day. The carried out a full service and inspection within 2 hours. They gave me a courtesy call 1/2 hour before to let me know that my car would be ready. I was really pleased with the service - especially the person who dealt with the call and booking. Good job and thank you.”
“It was christmas eve when i phoned to see when they could renew my cars clutch the reply was if you can get to us in the next 30 to 60 mins as along as the stockist had one it can be done today they also got me a new tyre at the same time i feel this was excellant service and very charming and nice people THANK YOU ( this was the Wimbledon branch)”
“I booked my MOT online for Tuesday 5th January at 14:30. Due to work commitments I had to drop my car off at 13:00 on the same day. The gentleman on reception was pleasant and informed me that if any bulbs or wipers needed changing then they would change them at a small charge but if it was anything more than £10 they would ring me to inform me. Having heard nothing I went to collect my car at 17:00 assuming it had passed with nothing wrong with it. I thought it was a bit strange when I got to the garage as my car was in the same position that I'd left it. Upon entering reception I was informed that they couldn't find the paperwork and that it looked like it had been missed. I was then informed that the manager was coming down to personally test the car himself. He turned up after 10 minutes and was very apologetic explaining that this had never happened before. He then completed the test and we was able to drive it away at about 18:10. Obviously you can imagine my frustration at this as surely you must have a system that stops things like this happening? Did the MOT tester not realise that he had a car to inspect at 14:30? So to be honest I was disappointed and embarrassed by the service that I received. The only thing that stopped me from giving the review a 1* was the gentleman on reception who was very polite and the manager who was very apologetic that this had happened.”
