“I would have gave five stars for ease of use and quick payment however.. I sold a brand new item never taken out of a sealed box, yet they said it wasn't as described in terms of condition and took about ten percent off the offer once they received it. I hope this isn't a regular tactic for people to just give in for the sake of wasting time. But an easy service to use.”

“Follows standard process for all these phone recyclers. They offer a reasonable quotation price but when you send them the device they always "find" something wrong and offer a much lower price. Stand your ground and reject the low offers if you know your device was in better condition than they say. Negotiate a revised offer or ask for the device to be returned. My £50 quote went down to £23 then up to £36 then up to £40 when I declined the offers. It's a game.”

“Easy to use service. Sent in an old Lenovo Laptop, was quoted £30 for it. On their inspection they considered it worth £5. Using the quotation form online isn't very clear with regards to what the company and the user deem satisfactory / good / perfect condition... Clearly what I considered 'good' the company did not and docked £25 for it. Either way money was in my account very quickly... And I guess I can treat myself to a coffee..”

“I have sold 3 items with these not the highest prices paid compared to other companies but i do notice they always come back with a revised Offer and alot less than they first quote. Fast pay outs however.”

“A simple, swift process. Had to wrap and send phone in my own packaging which is different from other service providers who will send it for free. But, did get a prepaid postage/adress label fromthem to use so not a big deal. I did have the - probably inevitable - disappointing knock back about the quality of the phone. There was a claim that there were scratches on the back case adn therefore, reduced the offer accordingly. But I think you'd need a high powered magnifying glass to have spotted it on the 4 year old phone that had never been taken out of its heavy duty protective case it was put it the day it was purchased.”

“I sold a Garmin Watch, which I believed to be in good condition. Upon receipt, Money 4 My Tech downgraded the condition to “Average” and reduced their offer by approximately £30. This was of course within their rights. I declined this offer, expecting the watch to be returned. However, a few days later, I received an email from them, resulting in an increased offer by about £15. I agreed to sell at this point, as the hassle of re-listing elsewhere wasn’t worth it. However, the increased offer (after my initial decline) made me question why their initial reduction was so significant. Was the condition of the watch really as bad as claimed. This is the first time I’ve used such a service and not felt confident in the final price I received, hence the 3 star rating. Other than this, their systems worked well and quickly. Darrell, who renegotiated the offer, was polite and prompt in his communication.”

“Once a final price was agreeed all was good and the money was in my bank account within hours but be prepared to haggle. The offer I got when sending my device was revised down by almost 60% but when I asked for the device to be returned (the charger alone is almost worth what was offered) they made a new offer that was 30% less and I accepted. I've sugggested they allow customers to upload photos as I could have sent screenshots of the screen, which apparently was the issue but nothig was evident to me.”

“I recently traded in my old device with money 4 tech. I have to be honest and say I am a little disappointed with there services. I was originally quoted a very good offer for my device, and then on the day they said payment was going to be made they offered me Half the original price because of tiny scratches on the glass. I refused the offer and they did to some extent try and meet me in the middle but still much much lower than the original and to be honest what the device is actually worth. So ended up taking an offer that wasn’t what I was looking for. A little disappointed.”

“I generally had a good experience with Money 4 My Tech and they paid quite quickly. My original offer (for my 2021 MacBook Pro) was however downgraded by a lot of money, as they said that my assessment of the laptop's condition (I stated it was in good condition) was not what their technician assessed, who graded it lower. Frankly, I disagree with their assessment, but as my time was short to complete the transaction, I made the reluctant decision to go ahead as I needed the money, so I can't grumble too much. My only word of caution is to be prepared that they might not pay what you'd like them to, or indeed what they originally quoted. This is I think the industry standard behaviour in selling second-hand tech these days though.”

“My experience of selling a used Samsung mobile phone went smoothly enough. It was a straightforward matter of packaging the item and using the pre-printed mailing label. They acknowledged receipt of the item the following day and managed the assessment the same day also. Unfortunately, an excuse was found to lower the price offered upon the pretext of it having undue scratches on the screen. I did not state the phone was in pristine condition and the price they initially quoted should have reflected this fact. I accepted the revised offer, but will not use the service again, however.”

“Not all that impressed. Took a week to receive payment and having sent them a pristine device it apparently was damaged in transit which resulted in a lower offer. Is it a scam ?? Hard to say but won’t use again”
