“I don't want to leave a public negative review as due to the nature of your products, it must be difficult to guarantee quality all the time. Just for information only, sadly, it was a very dry and crumbly bake that couldn't hold its shape when cut and was difficult to eat without leaving most on the plate and floor. The flavour however was excellent and I'm sure this was a one off. Please don't take this to heart. I enjoyed the flavour but If it was perhaps a little less dry and crumbly it would be outstanding. I hope this helps as I mean this to be constructive and in no way a complaint. Sincerely yours Catherine Simpson”

“My initial order did not arrive despite the selected courier stating it had been apparently delivered and signed for. The staff at Meg Rivers picked this up before I had chance to raise a complaint on the non-delivery and personally dropped in the replacements. First class resolvement of a potentially difficult situation. Thank You”

“Presented well but so sorry but we did not like your Christmas cake. So sweet and sticky, virtually no cake mixture and stuck to the roof of mouth and absolutely no hint of brandy to balance the sweetness.”

Good Morning, and thank you for taking the time to review. Unlike supermarket fruit cakes we don't need to use much cake mixture as the fruits (soaked overnight in brandy) and nuts are what make it special we feel, we've been making it that way for 30 years. Perhaps you might enjoy our Almond Fruit Cake more which is more like a Dundee recipe? With kind wishes, CustomerCare
