“I usually baked a Dundee cake every other week for my family when my 3 children were young and then sometimes for my grandchildren. However, I am now in my eighties and have finally found a similar cake - Almond Fruit Cake - from Meg Rivers which is just as delicious so I am relieved to not have to continue baking anymore and yet able to enjoy such a cake still. I ordered the cake on the Monday and it arrived in the post on the Tuesday morning, excellent service. I meant to give the cake the top rating of 5 but pressed the wrong star.”

“Don't send a last-minute gift after 12noon A birthday gift sat in a warehouse over the weekend as I failed to notice the order cut-off of 12 noon and was 2 minutes after that time. It was a Thursday and I paid extra for a 'next day' delivery assuming that would mean a Friday delivery. Missing the despatch time meant it was pushed into a Friday despatch which meant as I hadn't paid for the Saturday delivery (which I would have done had I thought it necessary) the parcel sat in a warehouse over the weekend and wasn't delivered until Monday. Customer service have pointed out that I am in the wrong and that this was clearly displayed on the website so this was my problem. I have also been assured by customer service that had I phoned this order could have been pushed forward to get it out earlier. But I didn't realise the package wasn't being packed and despatched on Thursday so it didn't occur to me to phone. So their website says "Need a last-minute gift?" well not after 12 noon. A lesson for others in the future.”

“First time order from this company and I was very pleased I ordered the fruit cake with gift tin for my partners birthday.. I couldn’t wait to give this to him so he had an early birthday surprise Amazingly quick delivery.. beautifully wrapped. The cake is so delicious bursting with flavour and lots of fruit and nuts.. My partner was over the moon.. Thank you so much i would highly recommend”

“The carrot cake was delicious. Moist and not too sweet, very tasty. The personal touch to ensure the cake arrived in time was very much appreciated. Years ago we used to visit the bakery in the Cotswolds and loved the cakes. When Meg sadly died we were very sorry to see an empty shop. So many years later looking for a birthday cake I discovered Meg Rivers cakes were available. You haven’t disappointed! Thank you for continuing!”
