“l've given 1 star as al though everything else was ok, the actual light bulbs l wanted were yellow & very low light, as they are for my cat, but although the bulbs are indeed a real yellow colour, when switched on they give off a red colour, most unsuitable. Can you explain why please. thank you.”

“Delivery extremely slow - advertised as 2-3 working days but when I complained after still not receiving the goods a week later, I was told their contract with Royal Mail has a 15 working day service level. Until my order is more than 15 working days late they will not refund me or deal with replacement! Had they quoted 15 days delivery in the first place I would not have placed the order. Stick with Amazon, far quicker (and cheaper).”

“The lamp arrived very quickly but the packaging was aweful and the lamp was smashed to pieces. How they thought two bits of cardboard would protect a delicate fluorescent tube l don't know. Shame as l have used you before.”

“One failed and on one the nipple on the bayonet broke. I did get a response from customer service initially but then silence. The phone is permanently engaged. Really poor as I thought Crompton Lamps was aquality product.”

“Bought 20 bulbs online. When i opened the packaging i discoved that 5 bulbs were smashed. Costs more to return them than they are worth. That financial dilemma was effectively capitalised on by lightbulbs direct. So as a consequence i got 15 bulbs for the price of 20, i.e. 33% more than the advertised price.”

“I ordered 8 fluorescent tubes, 3 were broken when delivered. I rang and arranged 3 replacements and advised the packaging was totally inappropriate. The 3 replacements arrived but 1 was broken. I rang and arranged for replacement. Replacement arrived but was broken. I have arranged for another replacement and said it needs putting in a rigid cardboard tube but was told they can advise warehouse but can’t make them. I am expecting this replacement to be broken as well. Process of of ordering etc is very good it’s the warehouse packaging that lets them down, it must be costing the company a fortune!!!”

“Don't waste your money or time ordering from this company, they state same day delivery - its a joke you can't even speak to someone on the same day, they are working from home with seemingly inefficient equipment, its a farce if they cannot tell you the status of an order or even if they have stock of the item. I'm still waiting for the items after 6 days. Your just left uncertain to purchase from another but then Lightbulbs-direct has my money. Beware of the Don't Care Trap!”
