“I have recently bought a flat for cash with 49 years remaining and an struggling with the Property Company when it comes to the lease extension, I was led to believe by the Estate Agents that the lease extension would be 37K but they want £50k for a 50 year lease to take it to 99 years and this will take the flat over its market value, they will not negotiate and If I go the Stat route then it will cost me 4-5k and there is no guarentee that I will get them to reduce their cost ? I am toying with waiting to see what the new legislation says”
