“Excellent service. Ford Focus very good value and lovely comfortable car. No problems at all Car dropped off at hotel and collected from the hotel all on time.Would definitely use again for car rentals abroad Thank you”

“The actual booking process was fine, and the car hire itself was fine, because it was through Europcar. But I found the deal through carrentals.co.uk, who re-directed me to hirecars.co.uk, I received 4 confirmation emails, one from rentalcars.com (a website I don't ever remember visiting through the whole process) and 3 from hirecars.co.uk. NOT ONE OF THOSE EMAILS TOLD ME WHO THE CAR PROVIDER WAS OR THE ADDRESS TO COLLECT IT! I had to follow a link, create a login account, confirm my email address and only then was told who was providing the car and where to collect it. On all the emails, the collection address was listed as "Chester, Downtown" - there is no such place, this is not an address. Google it, look it up on a map, there's no such place, it's some tossy name they've got in their system that in no way reflects the reality of actual geography. Since then I've booked directly through Europcar who do not list their location as "Chester Downtown" they give the actual address and location like a normal person would. I can only assume that hirecars.co.uk or possibly rentalcars.com or maybe even carrentals.co.uk have made up this location for some reason known only to them. Just to re-emphasise, at no point in the whole booking process was I told what address to collect the car from. This is obviously complete stupid and is why I won't ever use this website again.”

Hirecars.co.uk is powered by the broker, Rentalcars.com who works with a number of different suppliers to confirm our customers booking requests. As Rentalcars.com work with more than one supplier in the same locations and the supplier isn't confirmed until after booking, locations are grouped together in Airport and Downtown locations. All information about the supplier and their location address can be found on the rental voucher once a booking has been confirmed. “Prices were displayed, pick up was really easy, car was lovely and they were really quick. It was my first car hire and I was dreading it given the stories but I was very impressed”

“Found using a price comparison site - it was one of the cheapest, and was super easy to make the booking. Pick up/drop off was incredibly smooth and quick, and there were no extra or hidden charges. Only thing I might have preferred is if we had got a VW Up as advertised (we got the 'similar' - a Skoda Citigo but judging by the 25 other Skodas in the lot, we were never getting a VW) but in fairness, the Skoda was a great little car and absolutely perfect for our needs. Would definitely recommend and use this rental company again!”

“Overall, it has been an okay experience. Initially I booked a car including air-con. The voucher which should have been sent to me within 72 hours did not and I had to contact them for this. However whenever they sent me the voucher - air-con was not included. E-mailing them and informing them of their mistake, they were reluctant to fix this or rather did not admit their mistake. I called them directly and the very helpful person on the phone managed to get my car at a cheaper price AND with air-con. Overall - a mixed experience some good/some bad.”

“Easy to use website from generating quote to booking. Pleased with the price. Car actually supplied by EuropCar at Catania airport Sicily. Collection process was easy as was car return. I'd certainly look to use Hirecars again when next looking at car rental.”
