The actual booking process was fine, and the car hire itself was fine, because it was through Europcar. But I found the deal through carrentals.co.uk, who re-directed me to hirecars.co.uk, I received 4 confirmation emails, one from rentalcars.com (a website I don't ever remember visiting through the whole process) and 3 from hirecars.co.uk. NOT ONE OF THOSE EMAILS TOLD ME WHO THE CAR PROVIDER WAS OR THE ADDRESS TO COLLECT IT! I had to follow a link, create a login account, confirm my email address and only then was told who was providing the car and where to collect it. On all the emails, the collection address was listed as "Chester, Downtown" - there is no such place, this is not an address. Google it, look it up on a map, there's no such place, it's some tossy name they've got in their system that in no way reflects the reality of actual geography. Since then I've booked directly through Europcar who do not list their location as "Chester Downtown" they give the actual address and location like a normal person would. I can only assume that hirecars.co.uk or possibly rentalcars.com or maybe even carrentals.co.uk have made up this location for some reason known only to them. Just to re-emphasise, at no point in the whole booking process was I told what address to collect the car from. This is obviously complete stupid and is why I won't ever use this website again.

Hirecars.co.uk is powered by the broker, Rentalcars.com who works with a number of different suppliers to confirm our customers booking requests. As Rentalcars.com work with more than one supplier in the same locations and the supplier isn't confirmed until after booking, locations are grouped together in Airport and Downtown locations. All information about the supplier and their location address can be found on the rental voucher once a booking has been confirmed. I've been using car hire companies regularly over past two months whilst having my car repaired. I've been hiring from Liverpool Airport. I've found Hertz to be the worse for customer service and dirty cars. Arrived an hour early for the hire. Was asked to come back later as car wasn't ready. Arrived over an hour later and was informed they'd hired my car to someone else, as this is what it said on my terms and conditions ( it doesn't). I was offered to wait another 2 and a half hours or pay an extortionate price for another car. I felt forced to pay the extra. So, my economic car hire ended up extremely expensive. I have complained and feel I'm being fobbed off. It was difficult to speak with anyone who wanted to help, or where able to find my booking. Still waiting to hear how my complaint will be addressed. If your car hire is with Hertz, try to book with someone else. I found the staff abrasive and all have a couldn't care less attitude.
