Established for over twenty five years, Hideaway Beds pride themselves on supplying innovative space saving furniture and delivering excellent customer service, which is why they have built the reputation as the UK’s premier wall bed specialist.

Hideaway Beds work with many furniture manufactures, joiners, architects, interior design practices and retail customers all over the UK and abroad to supply space saving furniture and wall bed mechanisms for both domestic and commercial application. They operate from a distribution centre in Devon where many products are available for next day dispatch from stock.

“What a wonderful company. The service I received from Michael Downton was excellent. I cannot wait to do business with Hideaway Beds again.”

“These beds are a great way to save floor space. I assembled mine in a day and with minimla help. It has been used several times without any problems. The mechanism is very good, even my young daughter can open and close the bed. I did need to prep the wall that it was bolted to by installing extra batons inbetween the studs but this is a simple job.”

“We are delighted with our Hideaway bed, it took a while to figure out how we were going to incorporate it into the guest bedroom, but now it is finished it’s stunning, we used sliding mirror wardrobes in front of the up standing bed, and there was just enough width in the bedroom to drop the bed down when the two middle doors were fully retracted each side. It also took a while to design a solution for the gap at the head end of the bed when the bed is let down. But we made a removable platform, to support oblong foam blocks to sit on top perfectly level with the mattress, and used king size 90cm pillow cases to cover the foam, so they are washable. We also purchased purchasing some screw in press studs to attach a fabric valence all around the base to give the effect of a solid divan base. Lastly we handmade three individual removable headboards to sit as one on a French cleat, so that they could be removed and stored, allowing clearance for the bed to go back up against the wall. I have added some photos to show you how it works, hopefully it makes sense. We’re so happy with the results.”

“Excellent service and can speak to a human for advice, that to me in this day and age is a huge bonus. The bed was assembled by a professional tradesman which took some time because I wanted to have the unit close to wall and leave as little gap as possible therefore the skirting had to be removed, but I am delighted with the outcome. The quality of the unit is very good and I’m delighted.”
