Bought a breakdown cover policy to start my car at home. I bought it the day before - waited 24 hours then tried to get them out. They insist that the cover doesn't start today. I sent them 4 emails including the policy document which has the date on it. 3 hours later they are still procrastinating and now I am having to fork out another 75 pounds on Uber to make sure I can make it to an appointment.

My car wouldn’t start. I didn’t know why. When the mechanic arrived my car was jump started and he told me to get a new battery, then he drove away and for some unknown reason my gear box wouldn’t work. I called back but they said I’d have to pay again. So I’m stuck here in my car waiting for a tow truck from a local garage.

Hi Andy, we're sorry for any inconvenience caused, upon investigation it appears a customer entered the wrong email address when taking out a policy, this resulted in the email invitation to leave a review being sent to you. The customer has since updated their email address to the correct one, so there should be no further communication from us. Apologies again, best wishes the startrescue team.

I have not been sent my policy. I am getting no response when I attempt to contact Halford, either online or by phone. I sent a request to cancel my breakdown insurance because Holford are ignoring me and they are ignoring that. They took the money immediately from my account, so they can act when they want to, when it's to their advantage, and now today Holford has the audacity to send me an email asking me to review them. I regret totally going to to Holford for my insurance and now it seems I have to get into a battle with them to get my money back.

Hi Anna, we're sorry to find your comments, we can see you purchased a policy online towards the close of business on 09/11/2022, and after purchasing a policy you sent us 3 messages through our online contact form, on 10/11/2022 you sent a further query via email and our team contacted you just after midday to provide answers to your queries. Horrendous cover. Never informed it doesn't start for 24 hours then when breakdown 2 18 year old girls on a duel cartridge way left there unless they pay £180. Absolutely useless

Hi Nigel, we're sorry to see on this occasion you were unable to benefit from your policy, we can see this was due to the breakdown being within the 24 inception period as you mentioned. We can see you purchased a policy online where our terms and conditions are available for customers to read before purchasing the policy. We can see our procedures were followed and you were offered a pay-as-you-go service which you went ahead with. I cancelled my policy and they took the money anyway, from an expired card! That’s theft in my book. Give me back my money!

If you are unhappy with this, you may be eligible for a refund. 1 star for sending out a request for a review on the day after you buy it, not after twelve months so people can get a genuine review.

There is no link to see what or which vehicles are covered before purchasing the cover.
