“I visited Iain for a consultation back in November 2022 following some hair loss and he diagnosed Acute Telogen Effluvium along with Seborrheic Dermatitis. He reassured me that in time my hair would grow back but at the time I also had some blood test results which revealed that my iron ferritin levels were low at 22. I purchased a bottle of HairMedic's Hairiron tablets and 3 months later my iron levels went up to 54. I have still some way to go in order to help my hair regrow or flourish, but I feel I am on the right track with these. They do slightly upset my stomach but I am happy to continue with these until I reach the level I need to. I found Iain to be very informative and still do. Thank you.”

“Mr Sallis is a very knowledgeable and experienced (and friendly) trichologist. He is also able to get specialist help for you when required. If you have a hair concern a Trichologist like Mr Sallis is where you should turn. There are a lot of scams around and myths concerning hair loss/thinning. See a Trichologist!”

“I suffered from iron deficiency and hair loss for long time, I tried many iron pills in the market but it caused me severe pain in the lower abdomen. However, since I’ve tried hairmedic iron pills there isn’t any pain and my hair started to improve. Thanks Dr. Iain :)”

“I was concerned about hair loss as I had had cancer treatment 3 years earlier, lost my hair and regrown it since that time. I was tested for any infections in my hair followed by an in-depth consultation with Ian who ascertained that I had COVID 3 months before the hair loss started. This appeared to be the cause and in 3 months my hair returned to normal.”

“I was so pleased and relieved that Iain was able to provide me with a reason as to why my hair was the way it was. He said that I have hair growth cycle disruption which in my case, is genetic. It’s great to have a diagnosis as I no longer blame myself for my unruly barnet! Iain suggested I try topical Minoxidil but unfortunately I experienced undesirable side effects. However, I have found that daily scalp massage seems to be helping … fingers crossed🤞”

“The blood testing home kit was not very successful so had to do it again the second one was also not successful had to get blood results off my own doctor in the end. I will see what the going forward plan of vitamin D and Regain mousse brings, no success as of yet if anything my hair is getting thinner.”

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your review. We understand the blood test kits we recommend are sometimes difficult to use, but these are provided by a separate company we simply recommend. If this is unsuccessful we always help request blood tests from the GP. Any treatment plan we recommend usually does not see much progress for at least 6-9 months as this is the rate of correcting the underlying issues and seeing a visible increase in hair density. We would advise contacting us again 6 months into your treatment plan for a follow up consultation so we an ensure this is working for you and revise if we are not happy with progress at that point.
